  1. I have one. $4 k and two tons of donuts and I’ll throw in the shipping. Hi from Canada.
  2. I agree with @jayski and was actually quite shocked at the response from @Spineofgoo I’m not the moderator either and very rarely post but @Spineofgoo you are out of line
  3. I would also add @ab to @Than_Bogan ’s list He could fit into three of the categories. He told me once on The Nichols forum to think of the right hand gate ball as a donut. I still laugh about that comment.
  4. @VONMAN I agree you are a badass! I am proud of the recognition the Denali "Adams" and others have given you. I'm 64 and those of us in the Senior divisions are generally smart enough to let go when things go really bad. I'm an engineer and love your new fin addition and remain fascinated with what Denali team is doing with their skis. Keep up the skiing! We have a saying something like: You are never too old to ski but if you quit skiing you get old...I'm too old to remember the exact phase....my kids gave me a T shirt with it once. all the best, Murray
  5. Hey A_B. Sorry to hear that, I can feel your loss from here. My condolences
  6. Back in the day I used to be decent at both. I always said "I like snow skiing more but I respect water skiing more". Sadly water skiing has that "start" that I'm sure has turned a lot of people off. I've been colder water skiing than snow skiing and I live in Canada "eh". I've been skiing courses on snow and water for more than 50 years. You can fake being good at snow skiing a lot easier than water skiing.
  7. @A_B your eyes can smell? As you know I'm an engineer too. I love watching the innovation from @AdamCord and @adamhcaldwell . Slightly off topic but it looks like both of them have kick in toes on their skis....any particular reason for that?
  8. Hi David. I spent a ton of time and a lot of money trying to do what you want. I had a gps system with 20 capture point per second and a load cell. I was going to put the data on a Dartfish interface to show how the video looked vs all the vital statistics. My concepts were good but the GPS could not pick up the points to give me location data from which I could derive velocity, direction and acceleration. The load cell would give forces. I was trying to help Chris Rossi and Radar design skis easier. Everything was synced with a magnetic timer. I’m from Calgary. Say hi to Ken Nelson for me because you likely ski at Shalom Park
  9. I don’t like to brag but my wife has been driving me since 1975 and she is darn good at. According to Al Bishop I pay her to be with me as she is far to pretty for me too! Funny story though, I upgraded a Ski Natique boat years ago to Perfect Pass....she gave me hell for spending the money and after the first set she gave me hell for not buying it sooner.
  10. @jjackkrash I’ve lost 20 lbs and still dropping so I can’t wait to try another start! I agree with all your observations as when I was younger I pushed the limit of a 68 inch ski at 235 as well
  11. @KRoundy, I have the exact same issues, size, ski, job and starting problems but slightly older (in my 60’s). What works best for me is a gentle very soft pull. Actually surprisingly soft for such a big guy but it works. I skied decades ago with Mike Suyderhoud and he started with "no gas”. For some of the older folks they would recognize that name as he spent a bit of time behind a boat. I hated the soft pull at first but it’s now the only way I can get out of the water. So tweaking the gloves is a good idea that I will try but also tweak the throttle...you might be pleasantly surprised what less gas does for more mass. It makes no sense but that critical second where it is make it or break it with grip is not nearly as difficult a pull with less gas on the start. Smaller people and larger people don’t have the same issues so my rule of thumb is the bigger you are the smaller the gas. Sounds crazy but what have you got to lose other than a failed start. Good luck. If you try that let me know how it worked.
  12. way to go Mr. Rossi! We're cheering for you from your Calgary Fan Club Murray
  13. just saying...with my wide 10.5 feet there is no way I could use a 11 Vapor and the binding was 1 inch or more shorter than my running shoe. So make sure you all understand the numbers don't make a lot of sense...the 11 would have to pack out a lot to even get my foot into the binding since it is so short. I have trouble getting the 12's on when they are wet
  14. @A_B lets not hijack this thread. I will send you an e-mail For the forum I think the lithium senate is great I especially like the fact that I can get out of the water since it is 71 inches and it turns...a miracle that is long overdue in waterskiing The escort says hi...say hi to John
  15. @A_B I forgot to tell you I had a Triumph as well before the RADAR conversions
  16. @A_B I've still got the twin Maui Jim's you have but I have a few pair of Oakley's as well
  17. TWB, I skied on the size 12"s. I was coming from a Fluid Motion binding that seemed really tight and the Vapor 12's seemed sort of loose but they skied great and I could to my amazement pull them off at the end of the run. I would say they work just fine and there is no way I could of skied on the 11's. I need to get used to the slightly looser fit...it doesn't seem to compromise the Lithium Senate that I am on it just feels different. I will get used to the different feel I am sure.
  18. @A_B I got the 71 inch version since I am more fully grown than you are. Unfortunately I got blown out this weekend and had only 3 sets, 2 of which were pretty windy but the one set on calm water, with some early season strength left the ski was magical. My son said he heard the water rip again in my turns so we were both pretty stoked about that. I get my last few sets next weekend before we put the boat away for the year. I think the LS is full value, it does turn amazingly well...so well in fact I don't think I will put the mooring lights on the 71 inch. I told my son Ryan that this ski made me interested in water skiing again after 10 years of seriously losing interest. I might even try the course next weekend...something that I have not done in half a decade but used to love to do. Hope you and your family are great AB...and enjoy the LS and snow skiing!. Murray
  19. @ALPJr I actually just got a 71 inch version of the Lithium Senate. I haven't skied on it yet but Mike the local ski shop owner in Calgary who normally rides about a 67 inch ski ran up the speeds from 28 MPH to 34 MPH at 15 off and the ski seemed to turn effortlessly despite the fact it was 4 inches too long for him. I'm getting my first set in on the ski today...actually first set this year on anything and I have to say getting a 71 inch performance ski that looks like it can turn has made me excited about water skiing again. I weigh too much but that is life. I will report back on Monday on what I think. I used to be able to run quite short line in the course but haven't tried to ski a course in 5 years due to work commitment etc First sets this year...coming up!
  20. Hi Tom I experienced the exact same thing as you. My feet are 10.5 EEEEE and there is no way I could even get my feet into a size 11 Vapor binding. I measured the 11 against my 10.5 running shoe and it was 1 inch shorter. The size 12 was about the same length as my running shoe so I opted for the 12. I actually thought they felt loose but there is no way I could even put on the 11's. I haven't skied on them yet so I can't give you a users opinion but I was just as confused as you were on the sizing. I mentioned the size 12 to my wife with a smile
  21. @ral did your e-mail change...I just tried to send you an e-mail from China and it bounced back
  22. not yet RAL...just looking at Ball of Spray and wishing I could say hit it to some one who understands english and has a boat
  23. I completely agree with Gator1 and loved AB’s comment on barefooting. I’m not trying in any way impose my values but the reality is sex sells. She is a beautiful young lady supporting another. This photo of Ambre is sexy but does not cross any of today’s lines by the majority of people in my opinion. Would those that were offended be less offended if Ambre were not such a pretty girl? Just look at the poll results: the majorities say Great Pic or Who Cares. Sports Illustrated sell more copies by multitudes of their swimsuit editions than normal magazines. Do we see the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition of athletes doing their sport…rarely and only pretty athletes, and do you think it’s a fluke that Sports Illustrated picked February for the swimsuit edition… I think not as February was in the past their lightest sales month. Newspapers have girl Friday issues to sell more papers. Magazines have girls posing near cars etc etc etc. We are (generally) hard wired to look at and be attracted to the opposite sex to ensure the survival of the species. Advertisement agencies recognize this. Mr. Horton, I submit to you if there was an alternate Ball of Spray site with content exactly as yours in every way but the alternate site included a “Girl Friday” tasteful shot of a beautiful girl associated with water skiing that site would get significantly more traffic…even Schnitz has girls of water skiing on his site. Not everyone would go to that alternate site, I agree, but I am saying more people would go there to look at tasteful shots of pretty girls… and the women would complain there were not the same kinds of shots of the guys. I can tell you from personal experience that even in China the billboards and magazines are now way more “attractive” than they were 5 years ago. Your mileage may vary so don’t flame me I’m just giving my opinion and some observations looking at things. Murray
