  1. I've got a 2006 RLXI and have not yet noted the peeling on the emblems, but I have seen it on the instrument panel. I'm tempted not to fix the instrument panel and instead, coat in in something that provides less glare. A finish like what's on the TXi is ideal as there is no glare.
  2. I'm a long line skier. I started slalom skiing 4 years ago, bought a boat for the sole reason of learning to ski. We have a small club on our lake, consisting of only 3 of us now, but I still can get out relatively regularly. I'm at -15 and have been successful through 34 MPH. Last season, I ran a few sets with @Sethski and learned some valuable pointers. I had hoped to get down to his place this fall, but no luck so I'll run a few with him this coming spring. Being that I'm a relative beginner, the biggest things I took from him are: Body position on the ski - Ski Tall Stack Shifting of the body weight to allow the ski to "squirt" out. I worked on those things all season and my skiing improved. I took a few -22 passes but none of them successful. I welcome the information coming in this thread and would like to tip my hat to @ozski for starting it.
  3. I have an '06 LXi and ski a friend's '13 TXi. The TXi is indeed a fantastic boat. Biggest difference I notice between the 2 is that the TXi -22 is softer than my LXi. I prefer the TXi over the 200, but I've only skied a 200 a few times with many more sets behind the TXi. It's an all around great boat. As stated, the ergonomics are much better than my boat. I don't care for the dash on the passenger side of the TXi, but it wouldn't kill a deal if I was looking for one.
  4. where are you skiing @onamission? Sounds like a bad day.
  5. In season, I ski typically 3-4 times per week. Hope to start running some tournaments in the novice series next season and see where it takes me.
  6. @mlange‌ I think that the engine cover configuration had to change due to the PCM layout. I can't understand why else they would put them on the floor like that. I like the new steering wheel much better than the 12-14. I think you're right on the knob...subwoofer control.
  7. Looks like a PCM to me in this picture. http://www.skierspier.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=778023&p=1&s=Year&d=D
  8. I'm interested in this also. Staying tuned for sure.

    SOLD!

@utahslalom‌ I just picked up a 2006 RLXI this spring and love it. It's a great boat. I just need to add a heater and shower and I'll be in great shape.

    SOLD!

Beautiful boat @utahslalom‌! Well wishes to you on the RLXI search. What year(s) are you looking at??
  11. @akale15‌ ....You have a PM.
  12. @jhughes‌ is right. 2005 was still mechanical throttle and therefore not upgradeable to ZO. The closest you'll get is the Z-box upgrade to PP. @ToddL I agree with your sentiment about the $3k upgrade vs. a $50k boat. Hopefully next season I can set mine up. There's no way the CFO will allow it this year. We've dumped enough cash on new toys this year, namely the '06 RLXi and her pontoon. I can just see the look on her face if I brought it up......not good. I too am 5'-10" and I use the flip up bolster whenever I'm towing a skier.
  13. @ToddL I looked at that. It's not in the cards for me this season. It's a pricey upgrade to put ZO on the 2006 LXi. @mlange I think you're right. Set up is key and something I'm still messing with a little on my new to me boat.
  14. I have a good friend with a 2013 TXi. It's a terrific boat. Well executed in every way, IMO. I own a 2006 LXI and it's equally terrific. What I notice most, other than ZO, is that the throttle is much more sensitive on the TXi than my LXI. I do think that my 2006 tracks slightly better than the 2013. They're both great boats. By comparison from an ergonomics position, the TXi is no question better. From the perspective of the wake, the difference between the 2 is nominal and mostly noted in slow speeds, longer line length. Given the above......I'll likely not be selling my LXI for a long time. It's a great boat.

    New to me boat

@Wish....thanks! I love the boat! The improvement over the Sunsetter LX is pretty impressive. Skied tonight and the -22 wake on this boat feels like the -15 on the old boat. The pull is much more smooth, too. I'm pretty happy with the purchase and for what I paid, I don't think I could have done better. I've got 5 sets in, free skiing only because our course isn't in yet, and I'm super happy with it.

    New to me boat

I have not had a chance to get behind the boat. I've spent all my extra time cleaning, waxing, etc. The boat was pretty dirty. Tomorrow I'll get my first sets behind it.

    New to me boat

Thanks, @Joeprunc. I agree with you on the black. It will be waxed regularly. My boat lives on a covered hoist in the summer, so it will have some exposure. I'm just hoping that I can stay on top of it enough to keep it clean. I'm planning on pulling it in July for a mid season wax. I also plan to keep the wedge although it has been removed from the boat. I'm going to keep the tower for the first season and see what the wife thinks. I'm sure she'll enjoy the bimini, but for me, I need no stinking tower.

    New to me boat

Thanks @joeprunc! I'll let you know what I think after a few sets. I should be picking it up on Wednesday night pending a few issues with the sellers loan, but won't get much time behind it until after next week due to work and travel associated with said work. I must say that I'm pretty excited to spend time behind a boat that ski's much better than my old Sunsetter LX.

    New to me boat

@GroovyGrant‌ I agree on the Sunsetter LXI. They are not easy to find. They are only 1/2" wider than the Response LXi but they are 14" longer. I did go look at the 2006 RLXI. It's a pretty nice boat. Not in the condition I expected to see with 163 hours, but not bad in any case. I'll know where this is headed in the next few days.
