  1. I bought the ski used so it wasn't in the stock position but Matt Rini gave me some measurements and it's at 6.840 2.485 0.740 9 degrees it's a 66 inch Radar MPD and I'm roughly 5'8, 140lbs. The feeling it's giving me is at the completion of my turn it almost feels like I'm hitting some rollers and then I feel some water hitting my face as I go over the front, feet come out of bindings, sky all of a sudden looks like it's the ground... we've all been there.
  2. So I'm wondering what adjustments I should make on my ski (bindings or fin) because I'm getting used to a new ski and my onside turns are getting very comfortable but my offside is bouncing A LOT. It has sent me out the front on two occasions this morning (one of which possibly spraining my ankle). I changed the fin up a bit and that didn't seem to help so I'm going to move the bindings back a bit and see what that does once my ankle stops killing me. Input appreciated!
  3. I never thought about putting a wedge under my foot but that may be a little more comfortable. I'll keep it in mind, thanks!
  4. Thanks for the input. It's Animals that I have and I think I will give them a try and see how it goes. If I just can't ski in them, I'll go back, if it's not that big of deal than I'll stay with the doubles. Fingers crossed
  5. ToddL- I already start with my back foot in the toe plate so that's no worry, I'm more nervous about the edge changes and keeping my body position through the wakes. Thanks for the advice about keeping the boot loose though. I loosened my rear boot all the way last night in preparation for skiing tomorrow night. Good to know others are doing this also.
  6. Thanks, to make things more complicated, I also just switched skis so I don't know whether I should get used to them separately or just accept the loss of my next 10+ sets and maybe be used to the set up by the end of the season. As for a hardshell, I guess I honestly haven't looked into that option but I really like the high wraps and already have the double boots (from a while ago) so I was hoping I wouldn't have to spend any more money right now.
  7. So I'm wanting to try switching from a rear toe plate to double boots, mainly just for safety reasons but I have tried it in the past and hated it (although it was just for one set). I have my rear boot pivoted clockwise (LFF) and my front boot mounted straight (as it is when I ski with the toe plate). Any suggestions for switching? Would there be any benefit to waiting till the start of next season and doing it then?
  8. Not so much rollers from other boats, just frequent head/tail winds. Thanks for your input; I do the same as you and try and get out when the water is best but I'm sure you're familiar with the feeling when the water isn't great but you just have to get out!
  9. I'm working through 15 off into 22 off at 36mph. The majority of my skiing is on a public lake (in a course) though so conditions are not always ideal which is why I was wondering about as something like the annex as it has the PU core and is designed a little more for those conditions.
  10. Thanks for the comments. I'm going to be giving the MPD a try hopefully this week but there is also a Radar Annex at Wiley's for $400 that looks somewhat appealing as I ski on a public lake and 90% of the time I'm being dragged through the course on an I/O.
  11. Thanks Steven. From what I've heard and read it's a pretty fast yet forgiving ski (good for me, haha)
  12. So I'm a student on a tight budget and have come across a Radar MPD for a good price (I'm currently on an '02 O'Brien Quest... time for an upgrade). Just wondering peoples thoughts on the MPD. I've looked, and besides the Waterski Magazine reviews, I haven't really found many opinions or anything. Thanks
