  1. @Zman I guess not. I was a little surprised but the more I think about it the more I like this way as it allows for individual sections to be replaced without the need for crimping and cutting. As long as the ways to attach to the pipes work good than I'm happy!
  2. Just bought a new mainline to replace my old one. I went with EZ Slalom and Ed was awesome to deal with! Just had one question that I was wondering what people are doing. My old mainline had loops that went over the buoy arms but this one has two looped ends that came zip tied together. Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how I'm supposed to attach this to the buoy arm? Thanks!
  3. We own a '97 Boss 200 LS with a GT-40. My biggest complains with it would be the spray (even at -22 in a slight headwind you get pelted) and a slight rooster tail (which is somewhere between -15 and -22 but closer to -22 if that makes sense). On the plus side, the boat is extremely well made as others have commented on. I will say though that support from the company is next to impossible to get as they don't make ski boats anymore. We tried to contact them at one point and the people we talked to hardly even acknowledged that they even made that boat let alone had any information on it. I know this sounds like a negative review, it's not meant to. I love skiing behind the boat and it's very well built and is one of the best looking boats around IMO. I've heard the rumour that they bought the previous generation's Prostar molds for these boats? Can't confirm that though.
  4. A friend I ski with just uses duct tape. Works great, easy and cheap. Basically just doubled over on itself. I've been meaning to do it to my handles for a while now, just haven't gotten around to it (famous last words).
  5. Just looked and thought, maybe I'm missing something but it would be nice if on the thumbnail for each ad it said where the item was located. At least to the level of State/Province.
  6. I certainly hope they don't do a complete rehaul of the carbon pro. It's one of the last "traditional" looking ski boats being made! Such nice clean lines! Would be my top pick for a new boat if I could ever afford one.
  7. I know I'm beating a dead horse here but I can't say enough good things about Perfect Pass. Great company to deal with, in part due to their small size. I had an issue when installing mine, called right up to the guys who design the products and they helped me through. Went to order a second master module (for a different boat, not due to malfunction) and they remembered me a year later (or are good actors, either way, hats off to them)! Awesome company, awesome products... and they're Canadian, can't beat that!
  8. I usually just use simple slalom when free skiing. Practice mode could be useful too as it allows you to adjust in 1mph increments. I wouldn't think the zbox would be a worthwhile investment unless you forsee using it in a course in the near future. This, however, coming from someone who's been called "cheap" more than once!
  9. If you haven't already bought the insta-slalom, talk to @Edbrazil about the best options for your situation. He's helped me out with different issues in the past. Very knowledgeable!
  10. As far as an anchor system, we've had really good luck with using 5 or 6 cinder blocks tied together. The good thing is that individually they are a manageable weight to drop in but once you dive down and connect them all, it has lots of weight and doesn't roll. Obviously this works best for shallower setups. We also run a piece of garden hose through the cinders to avoid chafing on the rope
  11. That's the dash. Doesn't look like stargazer. Should probably pick up some magnets...
  12. @brody thanks! What are your thoughts on the boat? Nice boat? We're looking at one for the camp that will work as a good slalom boat but also have a good wakeboard wake (this one has a wedge and tower). Based on our research, seems to be the best boat for the job in our price range.
  13. Ok, I didn't understand how it would be connected to the perfect pass, just what I was told. Anyway, thanks for the help!
  14. So we're looking at a new boat but it's a bit of a drive to go see it. Can someone enlighten me as to what the two little switches above the key are for? It seems they may tie into the perfect pass and the speedo?
  15. For all the hype around the Vapor, I find it interesting that most of the more recent skis being mentioned are Goode or D3. Kind of makes me want to rethink my thoughts on getting a '16 Vapor.
  16. Ok cool. I just thought they looked kind of cool and was going to try and find one like that but I guess I'd have to spring for a 17 for that!
  17. Oh ok, I was just confused with some retailers advertising this photo
  18. Can someone enlighten me, I see some 16's with the windows and some without. What's up with that? Did the originals not have a window and then some of the later ones have it? Maybe once they started with the 17 mold or something?
  19. Off topic, I know but I think that 00-01 SN 196 is quite possibly my favorite looking boat ever made... Now back to the matter at hand, a 67 is too big. Honestly, I'm borderline on a 66". Could probably ski a 65" just fine too (5'8, 140ish lbs, 36mph @ 15 off).
  20. Just throwing this out there but if anyone just can't resist the allure of the 2017 Pro build and is looking to sell a 2016 66" Lithium Vapor in good shape at the end of the year or through the winter, PM me! I don't mind waiting as my season is soon drawing to a close so I can wait until you lucky ducks down south are done skiing in what, November?!
  21. Give that it's late in the Canadian season, if you're just shopping, I'd wait till the new year to see if prices drop. I only say that cause I'm in a similar boat to you (no pun intended). I'm browsing for a new ski (probably a vapor but haven't discounted D3 or Goode) but have resolved to waiting out this year, saving a little more money and springing for something in the off-season!
  22. @hemlock performance has some pretty good deals on some of their demo stock right now (I was tempted by a vapor!). Might not hurt to have a look at that option too. Can usually save some money and they're really good at sending pictures of what you're looking at so you don't get any nasty surprises when you receive it! On a side note, if I keep recommending perfski do you think they'll give me a discount? Ha!
