@SlalomSteve pretty sure you are correct. @boscoman the idea is to be able to release in case of fall. ankle can't be tight.

@MastercrafterI know that is why I switched to teak on the 23 🙂

I had one of my first ride in a while and it's funny how in the summer, 8 passes is just nice but right now 4 is more than enough 🙂

Like @kcsaid, WakeScout has a pretty comprehensive list

I think for most it does not matter. Unless the skier is extremely talented and fit, leaning harder will most likely move the pull / force to a higher point like the shoulders instead of the hips. That would cause a loss of connection and swing, therefore affecting the speed down (more load and less speed).
It would also cause a bigger movement into the pre-turn from lean away from the boat to over the ski instead of staying still and connected over the ski. This would make the turn more challenging.
My guess is the lighter the skier the more they will get away with more lean. Heavier skier (like me) should not lean.

@Horton I think speed is overrated.

I have seen leaks through heater hose / core connections. There is a valve you can close to bypass the heater, you could try this.

Do you have snow? You could try this:

@AdamCord I am on a diet, aiming to downsize. I am more worried about the color of the ski 🙂

@charlieskiwest and I picked up our new ProStar this week end. We tried to drop by @Horton’s ski site on the way but it was too cold for him.
we haven’t used the boat yet but we’re super excited to try it in a couple days f weeks.

no island, you will save on cost, maintenance... I know many sites where the boat starts away from the course with no islands.

Devastating news. I hung out with Brett at Regionals and tournaments in Sac. He helped me a lot when I was dealing with an injury. He comforted me when he didn't have to. I enjoyed talking about skiing and life while his giant dog was staring at the lake. He always shared stories about his kids and his wife, with a smile. He was one of us, a family guy, M4 skier, another good guy gone too soon. It's a sad day and he will be missed.

Just sold a 21 Prostar. there were 1 or 2 for sale in June / July and I can now see 20 Prostar (21-22) for sale on ski-it-again. The used price went down about 10k.

I have used Surepath for about 2 years and it is an amazing tool.
- Easy to setup
- You can share one base station and save on cost
- Easy to carry around and transfer from boat to boat or take to tournaments
- Pushes drivers to get better and pay attention even in practice
- I have seen many people very surprised to see where the middle of the course was
- It does give skiers a better pull because drivers pay more attention. The numbers are one indication of the path. The replay of the path is a great training tool to learn how to be in sync with the skiers...
- It is not mandatory for C class tournament and if one wants to pull a national or international record, it makes sense to have it.
- Makes it easier for driving committee to monitor the level of drivers at E,L,R tournaments
- Makes it easier for chief boat driver to monitor tournament
- Link to scoring is fantastic. Boat times are populating and drivers path data can be exported.
- I have not had issues with it. We use our own Surepath base station. We have to restart the base phone every few weeks. I found that people having issues don't have the best cell signal or internet, or have the rover antenna in the boat slightly covered by camera mount...
I would recommend to anyone serious about driving.

@Jaypro looks really nice. Boat price is so crazy though. It is going down but not fast enough.
If you are happy with PP it's okay. I know someone in California bought a 2007 for much cheaper and had a 6.0l PCM put in with ZO for a total about the same or less.
This one in Florida is an 09 https://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Boat_3Event&postid=65792
So I would think you have some negotiating room
