Result from me running 8 degrees was better width but uncontrollable tip rise out of my offside. On 9 degrees tip rise solved ski runs flat, but more effort to get width. May have a play around with dft to gain a bit more width.

I ski 36mph. Week before last I put my wing on 9 from 8. Numbers are pure stock 6.840, 2.505, .775, and binding pure stock 29.5" (T-Factor). Ski feels instantly amazing. Jumped up a pass from 32 to 35 straight away.

I can say moving from my elite to my Mapple 6.0, that the 6.0 works so much better in the rough than my elite ever did. I find that the elite used to bounce and skip round the buoys often.

@scotchipman Have you skied those numbers on a 66"?

Season has only really started over here and the weather has been shocking, but I got some video the other day. I would appreciate any advice, as iv kind of hit a wall. cheers

- The main things I'm seeing when watching this is a pretty narrow gate, and an early edge change into the 2-4 side.

 

@6balls we are a in a holiday resort, so all the lodges around the lake are rented. We lease the lake and only our boats allowed on there. We run an open door policy so anyone that wants to ski can just come down. Currently running Malibu Responces with ZO.

A bit off topic but on the same lines of what we are aiming for. Just my opinions.

Skiing has developed into a very covert sport, that does not see any light of day from the joe public. I mean just think how many sites are in the middle of know where in someones back yard. All that is happening is that skiing is becoming an inaccessible sport that only the rich can get into. If the mentality is that you have to be on the best lakes with the perfect shape, the perfect depth and the perfect direction, and these places are most likely invitation only basis, and as said before in the middle of know where, then yes nobody is going to know or try out our sport, because they can't.

 

My lake (rented) is surrounded by over a 100 holiday lodges. Every year I teach hundreds of people to ski because they see us at the crack of dawn slaloming and jumping, and think hey lets have a go at that. 99% love it and want to be able to continue on, and so information is passed on for other sites. Yes our lake is bigger than you want, and the depth is all over the place, but we have 2 courses and most the time it makes for awesome skiing, and completely open to the public for pay as you ski.

 

In comparison we have a purpose built lake 45 mins down the road. They are hard to get too (gravel track) in comparison to us been 2 mins off the main motorway (highway). They do there bit for promotion but its still an invitation only club, with limitations to just slaloming.

 

Im not saying we are awesome,and everyone is doing it wrong as the main downfall is been in the freezing UK :) and I love going to jacks or swiss to ski, but for promotion you need to get out there showing people what to do, because we all know how addicting this sport is. Get people into it and they will continue. I guess as a summary I'm saying we need more wide spread tourneys like moomba and malibu open. But from this actually make it easy for people to have a go. Once you get the sport bigger then sponsors will come, and we will get back on live TV. Rather than just trying to make a single tourney bigger, that is a very short term approach, we need to look to a long term.

@horton Will Asher record at Jacks was on the middle lake. Shallow at islands but deeper than 6' in course as i couldnt touch the bottom. Going with 7'-8' as a guess.

@otisg sorry to dissapoint but its not my video, and im actually from the UK.

@klindy haha good point. i know the AR drones just hover on there own if connection is lost, maybe something you can do with these.

personally me and fellow skiers ( may not be all ballers) look at how our equipment and skiing can improve by looking at other sports. e.g. snow skiing. Although as I'm currently in the French alps have been talking to some snow ski enthusiasts even though I'm a boarder, and only very very recently have inserts become available to put into snow skis (not Factory). Just thought id mention that our sports can help others such as this, considering we have had inserts for a considerable amount of time. Maybe we can lead the field in technological advances in other sports. Any other thoughts?

Would kill for it to be in mid 50's still stuck with low 40's all of the time in the UK. Although my mapple 6.0 is working amazingly well, and have never skied as good in cold water as i am right now :).

cheers darren. The video was raw footage so would be able to stabilise as well. Ye the rope is set up single loop over the pole. Our boat has a bit if vibration so could be that. Will try on the other response to see the difference. Another factor is the iphone 5 and large case add a bit of weight. without the case i think it would be better. The GoPro is great though, as i suspect lighter means less movement. Will put a bit of duck oil on to add some lubrication.

Sort of chucked together quickly. Only 4th set of the year and about 4 degrees so i know mine and @danspence skiing is pretty shocking at the moment.

Skiing at 36mph.

Used the mount today for the first time. Works great with iPhone 5 and the go pro. Also tried the go pro with tripod mount (screw) on the top bracket. Gave a great elevated view and will defiantly use this mount with go pro for competition boat video. Its spot on, Highly recommend it.
