  1. If the centre board can be got out you can buy a kit to install a centre pole. The kits bolt to the bearers you will need to cut a hole for the pole to go through the floor. The pole will often be removable
  2. Our experience remove the front bar on the doubles leaving the skis joined at the back. Once the are comfortable remove the back connection.

We then used the shaped ski (part of the doubles) and long v and held them and got them to try deep water starts

Amazing how fast they progress under their own steam particularly if there are other children involved skiing two up is more fun. If you can ride a trick ski, doubles even a kneeboard next to them the smile on both of your faces makes it all worth while

  3. I don't know what the rules are but if he is running the mini course (or big course) who gives a rats about what handle he is using. It is more important that he skis and has fun as he is the future of our sport. No doubt by he will be on a short v soon enough and then you can worry about tolerances
  4. Funny this whole conversation as an Australian most of our early (old) boats have marinised car motors in them. By maranised I mean exhaust and water pumps and used standard starter motors and alternators and maybe some maranised carbies but a lot of off the shelf holies. Guess it's what you are used to
  5. From a long way outside and with a zero knowledge and care factor. If something needs to change and the infrastructure (organisation) is in place then a well organised joining of the group will most likely get control and therefor ability to implement changes The last thing any small industry/sport needs is to fragment as then you have less influence whith sponsors participants and government/regulators

By all means push for change but take control or make it easy gor your alternative view to be adopted
