  1. @webbdawg99 Interesting. I can't gather why they would use AFM in a marine application. I don't see cylinder DE-activation as a good idea in boats. Especially in tow boats. Not to mention the lifters used in AFM engines do not have the best track record.
  2. I am not up on SN as I should be, I didn't know they or PCM came out with a Marine 5.3 LS based engine. I didn't see it on PCM's site.
  3. @gregy, older boats were picky about side to side weight. My 91, while not as bad as some, still could have an affect if it was bad enough. I even removed my battery from beside the fuel tank, behind the rear seat to under the observers seat. It was a great move even for the quick accessibility.
  4. Now, if you go with the Ilmor 6.2, you will have an aluminum block and heads. Save some decent weight in the center of the boat. hint hint....
  5. @Horton, according to Dan, the boat is a pure pleasure to drive, and he said the wakes are great. No discernible difference. It probably is a little heaver, the Ilmor and the 351W are both iron block, iron heads. But, you do have to factor in electronics, etc. If I were a betting man, I would say it would be minimal. Oh, and yes, had to do some doghouse work.
  6. For the past few years, while staying at my family's cabin in WV right on the Potomac River in the slack water above Dam 5. I have seen a course setup close to the Maryland shore. I believe it belongs to someone who has a Black Malibu, living on the West Virginia side of the river. Just wondering if it was anyone here??
  7. Also, you should check out TeamTalk on the MC site if you haven't yet @MattP. Would love to see a pic of your S&S. I love the S&S boats.
  8. @MattP, I didn't realize you were on the FB page as well. Also, I have no idea why I thought you were in FL. Sorry.
  9. @east tx skier beat me to it. @MattP you know Dan? Man I would love to see this boat in person. I know your in Orlando. Is he in FL too?
  10. Do it!!! It's hard to deny the wakes of a 91-94 MasterCraft Prostar 190! The spray isn't really a issue unless your past -35. There are plenty of mid 30+ off skiers behind a 91094 PS190. But there are mods you can do to the spray pocket to knock it down another line length. There is a guy who took a 80's Stars and Stripes MC and converted it to a new Ilmor 5.7L with ZO. It was a ton of work, but the boat is SICK! I will NOT be getting rid of my 91 PS190, and the boat has been ABSOLUTELY flawless, and the old 351W never skips a beat and starts with the first flick of the key... but spending the $ to do that has crossed my mind my of times. But, I think getting PP is the first order of business.
  11. Sounds like a great GF to me!
  12. I'm sorry you sustained injures. I hope you heel quickly and get back on the water. The only experience I have with cracked ribs is from a cliff diving experience going wrong.
  13. That is exactly what I love this sport. The sportsmanship!
  14. @klindy, you are right. They did struggle with all their passes. I am not sure... still think maybe Physiological? I am not a jumper either, so im grasping at straws.
  15. Bojan, Freddy and Ryan all jumped into the sun and after about a 20 minute delay because of the ramp moving. Im sure that and the sun, jumping blind got into their heads as they posted some great distances on Friday. I would have bet it would have been one of them
  16. http://www.usawaterski.org/default.asp?Display=2010 try that. Should have the break down. Some of my trick points were wrong, I updated them in my post.
  17. Erika won with 9780 points over Natallia with 9420 and Whitney with 8580. Nate won with 1@43 over Will with 3@41 in a ski off. Regina scored 4@39.5 over Aprils 1@38. Zack won with a distance of 201 over Jimmy with a distance of 197 in a jump off. I don't know mens trick as I left and came back. Im sure USA WS has it somewhere. Or @Krista knows. I do not remember the womens jump distances either...
  18. Erika Lang, Nate Smith, Regina Jaquess, Natallia Berdnikava, Zack Worden.
  19. ALPJr, I too originally thought it was 93 Protour boats, but I was incorrect. It's 94 Protour boats had a pocket cut at the rear of the spray channel.
  20. I know Dave and this boat personally. I can attest to the detail and love Dave put into this beautiful and rare machine.
  21. Congrats!!! Life's truly special! I see a future skier
  22. Glad to hear that's all the damage that occurred and everyone is safe!
  23. I agree with @ALPJr. I have the same XMP 454 on my 91 and I LOVE it. It does exactly what ALP said and spot on with what Eric told me. Eric is a great guy and I still BS with him on occasion.
  24. Contact Eric Johnson from OJ Props. Tell him what you are looking for in the boat, target rpm ranges, holeshot, etc and see what he thinks will work the best. OJ will send you a prop to try before you pay a penny. Great guy to deal with as well.
