  1. Ok, so I went out on the lake today, with the new binding. No problems at all in terms of functionality. However, I can tell that it is certainly going to take a few sets to get used to the reflex boot, over my old boot. The sensation of having a completely stiff shell over the foot was quite alien to me. I will probably have to play around with getting the placement just right too. I felt slightly stiffer in the turns. Still, I guess it's just a case of getting used to it.
  2. Cheers for the input guys. Drilling into the ski is a definite no no for me, as I don't want to risk damaging the core and it will void the warranty. The boot is completely solid within the binding (there is literally no movement at all), so I think I will just ski with it like this for now and if problems materialise, I'll have to have a re-think.
  3. Ok thanks, that clarifies it for me. I don't tend to rock back on the ski, so can't see that being a problem. I only fitted the system last night, so I guess this is just how it's supposed to be.
  4. I have the hardshell #12 which is the biggest one they do and appears to come with its own dedicated plate. So there is no option for mounting the horse shoe anywehere other than the intended location.
  5. I recently purchased a reflex front boot for my A2 as my previous system had no release mechanism, so was borderline dangerous. However, once the retention plate was installed with the boot attached, I noticed some lift at the front by the horse shoe. The place of purchase have told me that only the Reflex skis make use of the holes located at the very front of the plate, so I shouldn't worry if the plate bows slightly. But I thought I'd get a second opinion on here just in case. Pics below give better detail...
  6. Ok, finally got round fixing it. I'll go through the jump pics over the weekend and post them up. Here are some of the slalom pics for now......
  7. That is a hideous wipeout. I had exactly the same crash just last month. Needless to say, serious whiplash and bruising followed. I also perforated my eardrum.
  8. I expect some of you guys have seen this video, but thought I'd put it up anyway. Going out the front at 41 must be poor. Nate gets perilously close to the edge of the lake here and I must say, the venue does not look particularly safe.
  9. Just a quick question really.... I don't suppose anyone happens to know whether Connelly and D3 share the same placement of locating holes for the bindings (specifically the Prophecy and the Nomad)? Thanks.
  10. @Flya750 - I have Enzo bindings on my Prophecy, which I am getting on really well with, so I was hoping that I could transfer these onto the A2.
  11. Thanks for the comments guys. I guess I'll just have to ride one before I decide.
  12. @ Bananaron - I am based in the UK unfortunately.
  13. Ah yes, I read that article earlier actually. I had considered the current Prophecy, but I have been hearing great things about the A2 from other people in my club that ride them, in terms of stability and effortlesness. One thing I have found with the Prophecy is that it does seem to require quite a lot of user strength/input. Or that could just be the way I ski.
  14. Hi guys, this is my first post on the forums, so please be gentle. I am currently riding a 2009 Prophecy, however, I feel that I'm reaching the limit of my progression on this ski. This maywell be down to the fact that I have gained a lot of muscle over the last year, which I believe could be making me slightly overweight for the ski. I am currently 190 lbs and the Prophecy is 66". I have been looking at the 2012 A2 (67.5"), however I am yet to ski on it. I was hoping people might be able to give some info on main differences that I would be likely to notice by making the switch. I am skiing 36mph, anything up to 28 off. Thanks.
