  1. Glass......Ice.......Jim beam product ( no specific one) about the time the ice gets mushy run a lap around the lake every other day.
  2. @roger you sure it's been since 92 that Horton wet himself?
  3. @MS nice skiing! I say we throw a celebratory round of Trophy Lakers to welcome the Monza's HOME
  4. @shane I could sell him a waterproof model if you think it's necessary
  5. When I can no longer ski I will be that kick ass old guy that is always on call to drive for the neighbors. Not willing to give up my 30's but you can count on the fact that I'll be towing all day everyday during the summer for the neighbor kids when I am retired. With any luck we'll have some wind protection grown up by then
  6. The skier who wins the technique prize most likely wins the tournament. Right now I'm no threat.
  7. Have only been in our place for a little over a year, in my opinion too much for any house. Oh wait......man made water ski trumps all other activity lake in the back yard with neighbors that are ski freaks and always willing to drive day or night? Can have a horrible day at work, take a 2 min 4 wheeler ride to the club dock and ski as much as I want? I take my original statement back, got this place on the cheap. I knew about this place for 6-7 yrs and there was no way I could afford to buy a lot and build. So my plan was to dig my own, on a piece of property my grandfather was going to give me. Housing market crashes, I change jobs and BAM, living right where I wanted to be. Bought a new home, never lived in after the bank got it back. I would have missed out on so many nice nights if I had to rely on just my wife being able to drive. Unexpected? YES! Leap of faith? YES! Worth it? YYYEEESSSS!!!
  8. Not really so much the rest a guy needs but the time to get done everything I've neglected during the season.............let the yard work begin.
  9. Cooling off quick, lake temp dropping. I'm a lot more ready to jump in and go after staring at ice all winter than I am to brave the fall cold. 2 weekends left maybe.
  10. 1). Technique and rhythm are more important to focus on to me than ball count 2.) easier to learn at -28 than -22 or -15 3.) I should of bought a Strada at the beginning of the season instead of in the last month. 4.) living on a man made ski lake is priceless 5.) living next to @MS has a price.......and that price is ski ski ski ski ski ski ski ski ski ski rain or shine, Hurtin or healed. 6.) getting your kids involved with watersports............also priceless 7.) There are not enough summer days and never will be.
  11. Ouch! Heal quickly and properly!
  12. At our site we all use our own ropes and handles. Pretty quick to hook on and go when everybody is in line waiting to ski. I have no problem sharing mine with a guest, a regular skier should bring their own gear. I never take my ski without my own handle and rope anymore. Gloves..........never had someone ask, that's next door to sharing underwear though...........not cool.
  13. Good work @chris_logan.......throw the rules out and go ski, I'm for it!
  14. I'd go with something along the lines of " we'll there was me and these 3 hot chicks in the boat............" That would bring the conversation away from the boat and onto the question of "how hot were they?"
  15. I think @horton masterfully photo shopped that ball of spray decal on there for advertising purposes. Good thinking John!
  16. I've got this one a few times
  17. @jhughes FWIW I think it helps to go the other way, throw it on the green for a few sets. Break up the routine. Have fun for a few sets then go back to hacking away at legit passes.
  18. Jui Jitsu, physically demanding, mentally a chess match, technically a fraction of an inch is often the difference between wasting energy and tapping an opponent. Like slalom when it done right everything feels slow and easy, bad technique or poor timing and nothing could be harder.
  19. @horton why didn't you swith to Dickel???? @MS would have...........
  20. @thager tomorrow after my procrastination meeting
  21. I just ran a clean -47 at 61 mph after reading this thread........in the dark........without getting wet........come to think of it I didn't even have my rear foot in my boot and my ZO setting was on CN2, thats right Chuck Norris 2. That's gotta count for something even if it wasnt in a tournament.
  22. @ smithjohn16 Yes you need a new ski, ANY reason for a new ski is valid. Had a bad set? Must be the ski No PB this year? Gonna need a new ski Hate your job? A new ski will fix that Lawn mower won't start? Buy a new ski Wife mad that your always gone skiing? A new ski will probably make this worse but only until she leaves, at which point you'll still have a new ski. I'd get a new ski
  23. @joeprunc buy one of everything in every size. After you decide on one give all the others to your buds on ball of spray. I'll take a 67 Strada. Side note: I think @MS is secretly buying all Monzas he can find. Continuously bragging them up is his marketing strategy to sell them once he has the market cornered.
  24. @wish uses one.......fill em all in Wish
