  1. I’m hoping someone might know where I can get a replacement thin liner like this with a hard plastic tongue. I’m not sure where I got it years ago and I can’t seem to find a similar one online.
  2. If you find a surgeon that will fix it, make sure you ask him/her to explain all the potential complications that can occur. It's not highly risky, but you should make an educated decision.
  3. As a shoulder and sports medicine orthopedic specialist, I would not recommend surgery for a proximal biceps tear, even in a high level athlete. As some others have suggested, proximal and distal tears are treated differently. The exception for proximal tears would be for patients or athletes who also have a rotator cuff tear. Even in that setting, though, we generally operate on the rotator cuff and leave the biceps. If you search hard enough, I have no doubt you could find an orthopedic surgeon to fix it, but most well trained specialists will appropriately recommend against it.
  4. Thanks @ScotChipman1. Here are some inside pics:
  5. The Indiana hand center is recognized as one of the top hand centers in the country. I suspect any of the staff surgeons there should be able to provide you with the information you need. It may be helpful to show the surgeon a video of a skier on the slalom course to educate them. I'm not sure they really need to be a skier. FYI, I do orthopedics and I ski, but I'm not a hand/wrist specialist. Best of luck!
  6. Thinking about heading for a week family vacation to Lake Norman this summer and bringing my Nautique. There are lots of waterfront VRBOs online, but wondering if anyone has advice or connections regarding house rentals. I read that there are 4 courses on the lake run by a local ski club; anyone with info for visitors? Also, I know Little Mountain is close - wondering if it would be possible for a visitor to check it out and ski?
  7. I feel like my son, who just turned 17, just got robbed of his last year of B3 since this forces him into M1. I don't understand why M1 was changed; it would have been better to include 17 yo in a U18 bracket.
  8. Your x-rays look great. Your surgeon really did a nice job with a severe fracture. Most importantly, the ankle joint is lined up perfect.
  9. Looking at purchasing a Shoremaster vertical lift and wondering if anyone has issues with damage to tracking fins. Also, opinions regarding vertical vs cantilever lifts appreciated.
  10. Agree with @skiinxs. I have no problems. The ropes all have large loops; you just have to put it through the proper way.
  11. My advice is to see an orthopedic shoulder specialist. Treatment should depend on the magnitude of the tear and generally involves nonoperative treatment unless the tear is high grade or you fail to respond to conservative treatment (PT, meds, possible injection). You should know that PRP and stem cells remain experimental and controversial for the shoulder at this time; some studies even show detrimental effects. It's easy to find someone to inject PRP or stem cells though since you'll pay them $$$ out of pocket.
  12. Gutter Guard - $1.59 for a long sheet at Lowes. Hard to beat - just cut and zip tie, holes already there.
  13. I spoke with Mastercraft and they don't recommend any boat be hung long-term by lifting rings, especially as the boats have become larger and heavier. Sounds like a cradle is probably best for any boat.
  14. @skimtb. I agree that the prostar is nice. Adding a cradle may be a possibility, but an added cost for me which I don't really want since I don't own the boat house. The boat house has 2 spots and boats have always been suspended without cradles by cables and straps with a spreader bar if needed. I suppose I should research the cost for a cradle, but I was hoping it wasn't necessary. @ oldjeep. Not a southern thing - we ski in Ohio. I appreciate everyone's input.
  15. Thanks Keith. You hit the nail on the head. Here is the reply I just got from MC: Hi Robert, I am limited with what I can tell you, from a liability stand point. Max Doesn't sound like MC will comment or support it. Guess I'll have to look back at Nautiques.
  16. @keithh2oskier I sent an email to Aarne Clow, the MC rep at nationals and contacted MC through their website. No replies yet. I just don't want to risk hull damage by using the rings vs a cradle for extended lifting. Hopefully, I'll get an answer from someone at MC and maybe from a baller who has faced the same dilemma.
  17. @keithh2oskier. I sent an email to Aarne Clow, who was the Mastercraft rep at Nationals and I sent Mastercraft the question through their website contact. No replies yet. I'm sure others have faced the same issue. I just want to make sure I don't risk hull damage by lifting with the rings vs a cradle. Hopefully I can get Mastercraft's answer and an answer from someone who has used just the rings vs a cradle lift.
  18. We have always hung our Nautique by lifting rings in our boat house and are contemplating a Mastercraft. However, I've read that lifting a Mastercraft by the rings for extended periods isn't recommended without a cradle. Does anyone have experience using a spreader bar and the rings for extended lifting? Any hull concerns? Pics would be appreciated if possible. Thx!
  19. I am an orthopedic shoulder specialist and would worry about loosening of the socket (glenoid) with skiing after a full shoulder replacement. You should discuss this with your surgeon and consider showing him/her a video that shows the stresses our shoulders undergo with competitive skiing. Perhaps a partial replacement could be an option - may not have the same pain relief, but partial relief may be better than a failed/loose total. Sorry for the negativity, but you need to discuss this clearly with your surgeon to understand the risks.
  20. Just wondering if anyone has a favorite brace to reduce the risk of knee injury in jumping? Just hurt my knee a couple weeks ago jumping and looking to get braces for my oldest son (13 yo). As for me, I'm retiring from jump.
  21. My sons skied the course initially with 2 skis until they learned to slalom. They skied long line until about 28-30 mph, then switched to 15 off. And finally, the lighter junior line is great for the young ones who don't weigh much because a regular rope seems to drop in the water when they turn around balls. My seven and nine year old still used the junior line this year.
  22. All 3 of my sons slalomed with a Jr. Amigo until they could run the course at about 23-25 mph. It's a great ski for learning. I put a Wileys junior rubber binding on it and it worked great for them.
