  1. There was a discussion on boots in the Regina J. record video - thought this topic deserved its own thread. Below are my two cents. I use Radar RS-1 boots front and rear. Before this I had the HO Animal's. When using the Animal's I would try to snug them up like crazy to keep my foot in. I thought going tight was the best answer. After using the RS-1's I have completely changed my theory. What we all want as consumer's is COMFORT - defined by "something that does the job to my expectations or better." While this is not very quantifiable as it certainly varies by the user, it does serve as a guideline. A binding that is tight will not allow the user to move as fluidly as something that is loose, while something loose will not translate the movements to the ski as efficiently. For me I have been able to control the ski BETTER with more comfort in a less tight boot. I have gone OTF a couple times with the RS-1's and both of the softshell material has released completely from the hardshell. That is exactly what I want it to do.....same thing at the same time. If I was in a rubber boot, my rear foot would have come out first (at least it did for me), and that is not what I want to happen. I haven't had any 'Hardshell" boots but some guys at our lake do....they have good results from a buoy count, but I don't know what kind of nuance's they have to endure as a result. Other thoughts?
  2. LOVE watching those Andre and Brandon Paige doing their thing in freestyle footin'!!! Can't wait to see them at the Malibu Open!!
  3. @6balls - I have skied behind a couple MC's, some SN, one Bu, and our boat (moomba mobius LS). Everything according to me has skied well, except a MC (not sure of the year). Of course my perspective is probably somewhat skewed in that our moomba has a big roster tail at 22 and somehwat of a rooster tail at 28. I just look at it this way: If I can ski 22, 28, and get a couple buoys at 32 and run around 10-12 passes on a boat with a bigger wake it does a couple things for me. My leg strength increase's as I have to go over a larger wake and it also requires me to maintain VERY GOOD form (which is a work in progress). Anytime I go to another wake...it's like slicing butter and I'm EARLY for everything. Until I get a new boat.......I'm still skiin'!
  4. Way to go Mark! When I first got addicted to a course - 6 years ago - I had a phrase: 35 off. That is still where I want to be....last year ran 32 three times. So I still have a ways to go. Good thoughts on slowing the boat down. I have done that this year too....tremendous confidence booster. Not to mention my consistancy is INCREASING!!! It should help others out too!
  5. @Horton - Looks good! Clean and polished. Like the gray background with ball of spray on it!
  6. Hey everyone - just signed up today, but have been watching/reading the forum for a while. Hope this is in the right topic category. Just wondered if anyone would be at the Malibu Open? I went there last year, and it was a blast. Very cool, and TONS of people. Wonder if Andy Mapple will show up to show off the AM Ski?
