  1. Try 30.25 inches from tail for front binding. I believe that is the stock setting. I'm at 29.25 for my 67 Senate
  2. Set up my front vector boot at 29.25 from tail of my 67 Senate with standard binding size.. Skied on it this weekend, seemed to feel ok. Thinking about moving it up just a bit. I'm use to sking on old HO skis that have front boot further up on the ski.. Probably around 30 to 32 in from tail.. I think this 29.25 measurement is stock setting for the Senate... thoughts? Anyone else skiing this ski? What distance do you set your bindings at? I really need to ski on it a bit more before I go changing things I guess...
  3. Finally got a chance to try out my new Senate this weekend. What a great ski, it felt so light compared to my 1990's HO ski. The Vector front boot was really comfortable also, made sure I didn't over tighten the binding too. Deep water starts were a breeze with the ski. We were skiing on a public lake with somewhat windy conditions so their was a bit of chop on the water.. I felt very stable on this ski right away.. I had the front boot set 29.25 from the tail and I was thinking I may bump it 30 inches and see how that feels... It really felt ok though... I ski behind a Cobalt so I have to deal with a bigger wake.... I'm still working on my form and trying to edge through the wake instead of riding it flat and going airborne across the wakes... Tried 15 off behind the Cobalt today too... Not a good idea..,wake is just to big and scary at that length . So, back to 75 feet for this summer and working on my form.. Maybe a ski boat with a better wake in the future....
  4. Just opened my new 2012 Senate and 2013 vector bindings!! Installed the bindings and ready to try her out. Vector boot sure is comfy...
  5. I went ahead and ordered the 2012 Radar Senate today!!! Hope I like it ...
  6. Been thinking about getting 67in 2012 Senate. I bought a 2011 HO Comp Freeride 65in at the end of summer last year, on sale... Im 5'9 and weigh 165 lb in the summer months. Is the Comp to small for me? intermediate open water skier.. Suggestions..l

    Trim tabs

It's a Cobalt 200. We just got it last year as a family runabout.. My nephew skis pretty aggressively behind it. He is a pretty good skier. He is strong and cuts pretty hard across the wake in a good stacked position. So, I know it is doable... Guess I'll just make do...

    Trim tabs

Can I reduce the wake or make it somewhat softer on my 2005 Cobalt bowrider with Bennett's Trim Tabs? I usually try to ski with a 1/2 tank of fuel or less and make sure I have someone setting up front. Would changing the prop from a 3 blade to 4 help too? Thoughts and suggestions please.. I'm just a recreational public lake skier. Just trying to soften the hit of the wake a little.
  9. Wakehouse.com is offering package deal, 2012 Senate ski with Vector boot and RTP for $450. Might just snatch that up...
  10. I was in a local wake boarding pro shop and found a new 2011 Radar Senate that was marked down from $449 to $250. Its a blank with the mounting plate. This seems like a good deal. Is it? I'm thinking about buying it. Is the 20011 a good ski?
  11. Yep, I watched the video... Looked pretty fun carving back and forth and jumping the wake every know and then..
  12. Im in the market for a new ski. What are your thoughts on the HO Freeride? Im a intermediate skier on a public lake skiing behind a Cobalt 200. I was thinking about getting the Radar Senate, but the HO Freeride looks interesting too. I have no access to a slamon course. Just open water skiing in not so perfect water..
  13. How do y'all like the Vector bindings? I've never used them.. I usually run a front boot and RTP. I liked how my animal front boot feels. It's an older model.
  14. Thanks for all the suggestions. I will check out ski-it-again.com. I forgot to mention I'm 5'9 and 170lb.
  15. I'm looking for a new ski. I'm 42 in good physical shape. I ski behind a Cobalt 200, so the wake is pretty big. I've been to a ski school for a one day lesson, but could not get the timing down while trying to a run the course. I will probably take another lesson this summer, but I will be a open water ,recreational skier.. I have no problem getting up and crossing the wake, however my form is not that great. I'm working on getting in the stacked position while crossing the wake. Skiing on a old 1995 HO with animal bindings presently. Suggestions welcomed... My budget is around $300. Thank you!
  16. Took my first ever lesson yesterday at this school in Greenville TX just outside of Dallas. I'm 41 and maybe skied a total of 20 times since I was about 15. Allen the owner was a super nice guy that had plenty of patience with me. We started off with free sking to determine how I stood on the ski and how my wake crossings looked. I was amazed at his ability to drive the boat and watch my form while looking in the rear view mirror the whole time. I think the most important advice I got from the lesson was body position. We did the drill of holding the rope on the dock and trying to cement my stance while leaning away from the handle. I was able to make a few wake crossings on my onside that felt really good while maintaining a solid stacked position... After lunch we moved on to the course which I had much difficulty with. I have major respect for you guys and gals that can run it... So, anyway, glad I finally took a lesson. Off to the lake this weekend to practice practice practice ! Pretty overwhelmed with all the tech in water sking properly.. Major fun though. Really sore in my upper back and shoulders right know. Although this is the first time I skied and didn't get bicep pump.. So, I guess thatis good
  17. I'm going to Dallas Ft. Worth Ski School in a couple of weeks for a one day class. I'll have a review when I get back!
