  1. Great skiing with @ob at Chet's Wednesday, beautiful day... @mattP come on up to Whitestone, the boat is in the water! But you may want to try to stay out of the water, it's cold!
  2. Question...what difference does the small increase in weight of the binding make in the performance of the ski? Would a 5lb drop in your body weight have the same affect as lighter bindings?
  3. I am surprised by this lack of understanding of proper training. Muscle tissue should always be warmed up before any extreme exercise! Stretching should be done only with properly warm muscles, and is best done after exercising(skiing). Raising your heart rate prior to skiing will also jump start your oxygen delivery to muscles. If you never participated in organized sports with professional coaches, you should read up on proper training techniques. I always try to ride my bicycle for ten minutes, then follow with a series of exercises and stretching before I ski, practice or tournament. And yes, this has become more important to me as I have aged. But I am still skiing! With all the reports of injuries lately, I hope every skier will take the time to warm up then stretch before every set.
  4. Whitestone is a great place to ski and live! I have been here for three years now. But we need more young skiers, kids and young adults to participate in activities here before we consider holding Regionals again. There are more dogs here than skiers! Lots are available!
  5. OB, the brake strap is pointless. I have been modifying my hardshells by cutting the tabs and cuffs for over 15 years...and have skied with many different types of shells... See ya at the lake!
