  1. If you can receive ups or fedex try skiitagain.com. Decent deals on used items so that as you get in better shape by skiing more you wont be so tied into a new ski and you can use some of the money to put toward a higher performance ski as you get in better shape and advance your skiing.

  2. If focusing on your leg position seems weird, try to think of pulling your hips forward on the ski. Your center of balance in that stance looks to be on the arch of your rear foot, I've been told that it should be centered on the arch of your front foot. Better skiers that me with greater understanding of modern technique should be able to weigh in on whether this is correct.

  3. These skis do break down with age. You should at least demo a new ski, you might find that people are right. The Pulse should only have adjustment on the wing angle. I'd suggest starting it around 8°. I also believe that we generally moved the bindings one hole forward most of the time.

That said, guys leave him alone. He loves his ski. Don't we all. I've seen people ski amazingly well on much worse.

He'll know when he's ready to make a change.

  4. I had a few friends who used to ski the asymetrical MasterCraft ski (whatever that was called). After they demo'd and bought that, it was usually one set on my LaPointe Pro that would get them to change over. I'm not saying there's nothing to it, I'm just not sure that there is.
