Been skiing on the Quantum 2017 trick in our summer in NZ for a few months now and it really is fantastic. Toe tricks are so much easier and tricks I was struggling with have all become so much easier and more consistent.
Trick skiers designing and building trick skis has to be the way to go.

Piko at Lake Ratapiko - guess where his name came from?

@ipskier The latest Wakeye pivot now has a screw at the bottom of the base to adjust the friction of the base. Contact Wakeye directly and they will sort the issue out for you.
-
@JordanOz @Razorskier1 we have fixed the issue with the 6S crashing. We are now waiting on Apple to approve the app update. Should be available in a few days depending how quick Apple can approve it.

@scotchipman some of the Android phone makers have 120fps (aka slo mo) in their native camera apps, but none had exposed the feature for app developers to access. We found an SDK that appears to do 120fps on Android devices that support it. Its still currently in beta version

The latest updates from Apple in IOS has created some issues with the Wakeye app for iPhone 6S and iPad 4 that we are aware of. Trying to fix the issue asap
All other iPhones 5 and above work fine.
-
@lpskier yes since IOS 10 version has come out, we have had some issues. Particularly with iPhone 6S. Working on fixing those now. It seems every time Apple comes out with a new IOS we have some problems with the Apple app.

Absolutely amazing tricking from such a young skier. And to consistently put out scores over 10,000 points is phenomenal. The hard work and dedication from her and her support crew and family deserves praise.
These young up and coming trick skiers throughout the world are changing the sport and making trick skiing cool again.

@scotchipman the rolling shutter effect on the iPhone is certainly better with increased frame rate
-
@Wish - excellent to see the app is working better for your iPhone 6S
-
@scotchipman we are currently testing an update with 120fps on the android app
-
@Bill22 if you increase the fps to 120 or 240 it will save directly to your camera roll.

Wakeye iOS app has just released an update that includes:
Auto Mode will now be the Default setting
It will retain the FPS and Zoom settings previously set even when app is completely shut down
Low resolution in iPhone 6s bug fixed.
Any feedback on these updates would be appreciated.

@Lieutenant Dan the stabilisation button turns off or on the digital/software stabilisation. There is no where in the apple api to turn off the optical stabilisation of the 6+. We tried all ways possible to do it, but it wasn't possible.

@Wish is this the setting you changed from 30fps to 60fps?
-
We used Polyforms and they didn't even last the first season with a number deflating because the top surface started melting and perishing from the sun. We purchased Wally buoys this last season and they have been fantastic. They don't fade, and none have deflated. Most people say they will last many years if looked after so even though we leave the course in over winter we removed the Wally buoys . We reckon we will save money in the long run.
-
@Wish - yes, that is why it has to be stored in the photo library
-
@Wish When you use the 120fps or 240fps option it saves the video into the phones photo library and gives it a time and date stamp.
-
@Razorskier1 - storing zoom and frame rate previously used are two features that would be good to have. We will look at adding those in the next upgrade.

@LZywicki1 is play back on the iPhone upside down or is playback on a computer upside down once you have downloaded the video file. If the first, try deleting the app and reinstall. If it is the latter then ensure the menu button is sitting on the RH side with the camera lens on the top left when recording in the Wakeye camera mount. The iPhone knows if the image is upside down and will switch it. The computer does not.

Wakeye has a new vibration mount you can customise for different high frequency vibrations: http://www.wakeye.com/products/wakeye-resolute

thanks @dchristman great article
-
@303Skier the iPhone 6+ has a optical stabilization feature that seems to cause havoc with the vibrations coming from the boat, which is transferred through the pylon and mount.
The app works but the video quality is very poor.
However, this seems to vary from different users where we believe boats with minimal vibration seem to work OK, but ones with vibrations from the motor and possibly shaft bearing vibrations the video becomes almost un-watchable.

@DaveD iPhone 4S, 5 , 5S, 6 and 6S all work as they use the latest iOS operating system.
iPhone 4 no longer can upgrade to the latest iOS operating system so the Wakeye app cant work on it.
