  1. I know we're supposed to avoid political comments but.....I'd vote for him for President!
  2. I know we're not supposed to political but.....I'd vote for him for President!
  3. April is about done! Recovered from the snow on Wednesday but I think it cooled the water off to 58 degrees! Pictured is my ski friend Tony in a drysuit! What a pansie! I skied in a wetsuit full of holes!
  4. Woke up to fresh snow in central Indiana this morning after skiing 2 days ago in 65 degrees and sunshine! Surprise! Back to warm weather and water skiing in a couple of days. B
  5. Finally got the ski boat in for the season on 4/5/2021. Indiana weather has been unusually warm. Buddies and I skied several sets. Water was 58 degrees and air was 70 degrees. Hot tub and beers ended a perfect day on the lake! Welcome spring!
  6. Beautiful Indiana weather today allowed for snow skiing in the morning and water skiing in the afternoon. Air 52 and Water 39. There was icebergs still in some coves.
  7. Bananaron's story along with others brought back fond similar memories. Dad didn't ski but liked to drive and pull us kids. The first boat was a cedar strip runabout with a 22 HP Buccaner. It leaked like a sieve when first launched each spring. Then he bought a small cottage and purchased a new fiberglass Crosby with mahogany decks and a 40 HP Mercury Mark 55. It was a "dream boat!" My father died at an early age but we kept the boat and the cottage and got years of service from both. Segway to 1990's and I bought a lake home and a used '91 Prostar. Then I was on the 5 year plan with a '96 Sammy Duvall Prostar, a 2000 Nautique, a 2005 black P rostar, a 2010 grey Prostar, and finally a 2015 Prostar which I presently have but......there's a new 2021 prostar ordered and due for delivery this coming summer. Thanks dad for the memories.
  8. My 2015 baby! Available August 2021.
  9. I was fortunate to ski at Eden with excellent coaching from Zane (first class fellow) on January 6th. Water was 70' and air was 70'. On the 11th went up and skied with a good friend at Haines City. Water was 65' and 70'. Now back in Indana and hoping to do a "winter ski" before end of January.
  10. A little late to report but only "thumbs up" for Kevin Day of St. Louis. Keven organized his 36th annual Polar Bear Ski event at the Arch on the Mississippi River on New Years Day. The event strives to raise funds for the Missouri Disabled Water Skiers. Several skiers and wake boarders braved 30 degree water 35 degree air temperature and rain for the disabled water skiers!
  11. Happy Holidays to all from Brewski Lake in Indianapolis.
  12. I hate to admit how addicted I am to this site! I check it every day! Keep up the good work!
  13. Made it out today in Indiana for free skiing. Beautiful sunny day of 56 degrees with water temperature of 44 degrees. Made my goal of skiing every month of the year in home state.
  14. News came out today that the Indianapolis Boat Sport and Travel Show has been cancelled for its usual February 2021 dates. A further look on the web shows that the January Chicago Boat Show has also been cancelled along with the Cincinnati Show held usually in January. We mid-westerners so look forward to attending these shows with the promise of spring and boating season coming in a few months. What about the people who were usually "buyers" at the shows so they could have that new boat ready to go come warm weather. Another casualty of the Covid 19 pandemic.
  15. Skied yesterday at Brewski Lake in Indy. Water was 54 with glass and the air was a sunny 73. Skied the last course set then put the boat away and took out the buoys to clean and store. Terrific good weather for a couple more days the reality sets in!
  16. Address the issue of "property values" for both the new construction and existing homes. Hit 'em in the pocket boot. Possible litigation for existing property owners property values going down due to new lake rules.
  17. It may be late in the season but never too late to expand the collection! My favorite UPS delivery person stopped by today!
  18. Brings back memories! I bought a 2000 Nautique and took the factory tour at that site. Their offices were in an old 2 story motel. As time marched on, they bought the next building in the block and then the next building in the block, etc. So when building a boat, they would move the boat from building to building as the boat progressed. It was so inefficient and appeared unorganized, I couldn't believe it. I also toured the new factory in later years....what an improvement.
  19. I bought one last year for winter skiing behind the pontoon in winter! Easy to get up and cruise at slower speeds. My ski friend Dan is pictured on Sweetwater Lake, Indiana, in January!
  20. I watched the Novice Night post with particular interest as we had on the schedule to do our Monday Night Ski League here in Indiana. We had our first event last Monday (6/08) at Boondocks Lake and our second event this evening 6/15) at Brewski Lake in Indy. Both events have had a "full house" of skiers of all abilities, ages, etc. Even had 2 handicapped fellows and a complete beginner on 2 skis. We are not nearly so organized as the Novice Night group and only charge $10 per 15 minute set. Other ski lakes ought to join in the fun to promote and hopefully grow the sport. It's harder and harder to play on public waters with the "wake machines" roughing up the waters. Keep up the good work up there and we will also down here in Indiana. We have more scheduled in June and July.
  21. Fine. Now younger brother working on his masterpiece. A little competition!
  22. My ski buddy's son Luke wanted to display his handiwork. I wonder if he gets credit for art class in e-learning?
  23. Terrific good weather in Indiana as spurred my latent painting gene! I've painted the garage exterior, basement block exterior, and finished the steps to the lake today. Have enjoyed some free skiing at residential lake these fine days. I have new PVC pipes in the garage to construct new arms for the floating course as a cold spell is forecast later this week.
