We had an overnight low the other night of 30 degrees. Lake a few days prior was still 72 degrees. Should have seen the steam rising early a.m.! Today windy, cloudy, high of 61.

Supposed to be in the upper 80's here today. Water is about 85 with a ripple breeze in your face off the dock. Scoke and Skidawg on the way over. Gonna be a fun afternoon.

I've got a similar weather report posted on my refrigerator at the ski house. Shows a high of 200 with a heat index of nearly 20,000 degrees. Man it was warm that day.

Just skied a set (in a shorty) here in Western Colorado. Air was 64, water 62, but its supposed to get close to 80 next week. Looking at snow covered peaks not too far south. Will be changing from one ski to 2 in about 10 weeks.

I hate winter. I hate to see the steam rising from the water! I hate it when it gets dark so early. I hate it when it gets light so late. I hate it when my car ceases to wreak of wet ski stuff. I hate having to drain the boat heater. I hate having to drain the boat.....period. I love watching Horton and MS spar about not-so-technical water ski stuff. I am glad that they don't jump.

Although today it was freezing water under my feet and nice skiing around from a fairly well known lady from the USA (see below)

I guess I live in a privileged part of the world...

Kona, where I am makes me just gullible to believe that that is not a typo. We were 113f (high in the nation - Thermal, CA) last week. By Thursday it had cooled to below 100f and the water was a chilly 84f. Summer's over?

While Death Valley is lower in elevation, it is also higher in latitude. Thermal is still 200 feet below sea level and in a desert so we get HOT.

If we paved over the desert southwest with solar panels we'd solve the energy problem. We're all fat because we converted all of the midwest to corn and soybeans - we could do the same for energy. If I could get a permit for a solar farm...
