Baller Broussard Posted March 21, 2012 Baller Share Posted March 21, 2012 circumference (take a soft tape and wrap it completely around the buoy) is 30 inches. .
travnews
thank you. I filled them just shy of nine, thinking it was nine. They just look bigger than I remember.
east tx skier
Build a box with only two or three walls (like a C, but with a bracing wall). Make the distance between the walls slightly more than 8". Put the buoy in and inflate until it barely touches.
501Brandon
I used a cheap plastic 8" flower pot last year and as soon as it became snug it was good, then after the sun was on it and expanded it a little more they looked perfect! Especially since we replaced the entire course at the same time!

Chuck_Dickey
Gate and turn buoys should be 20 - 28 cm in diameter, that's 7.8" - 11". The rule book recommends 7.8"
Baller_ RichardDoane Posted March 23, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted March 23, 2012 I have a piece of plastic cardboard with a 7.8" hole cut in it, with the buoy over inflated a little, I let it leak air until it just begins to fit through the hole as I pull out the air tip
Baller A_B Posted March 23, 2012 Baller Share Posted March 23, 2012 I used a jigsaw to cut out a 7.8" circle in plywood. First time filling I always leave room for them to loosen and grow. Out them out in the sun for a day and you will normally see them expand a little. Next day or two later, increase to size. I would find 9" buoys a little big. We keep ours small and water filled. Baller_ Wish Posted March 23, 2012 Baller_ Share Posted March 23, 2012 I air filled some for a buddy of mine (same hole cut out method) and dropped them off by his front door. He didn't get them until hours and hours later. Unfortunately they stayed in full sun the entire time and I had them in a black duffle bag. They were no longer regulation size or even usable. FL sun is brutal.
travnews
I was filling the pre gates and boat guides, I filled them around 8.5". Probably let a little air when they are installed Thank you all
