Baller cobber Posted July 26, 2012 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2012 Has anyone ever skied at Ski Catalina in Dominican Republic. A couple of us at our local ski club want to go on a fall holiday, and thought it may be a nice place to change it up a bit and head there instead of doing our usual Florida trip, Anyone have any information on this place and the hotels around this area, good or bad. Leopold Posted July 27, 2012 Share Posted July 27, 2012 I went to the DR in 2007 and skied quite a lot in Catalina. The ski conditions are wonderful, short setup but very nice lake. The local beach (Boca Chica beach) is a beautiful white sand beach with turquoise waters but very crowded as it's Santo Domingo local beach. There are beaches very near less crowded with nice all-included hotels. But you have to think that the DR is quite different from Florida.
