bogboy
I just received and installed a nice waterline cover, to replace my rub strip cover on my s/n 196. It covers the swim platform, and all of the blue gell coat now, but stops coverage about 5" above the chine, which is white, not blue. the company offers a curtain, which can be sewn on, which will cover that last aprox 5" of white gell coat. My question is should I get the curtain, or not worry about it. My gues is that white gell coat isn't nearly as sensitive to sun fade/wear as blue, and it would only take me a few minutes a couple times a year to wax the white strip. Or does white get really bad from the sun? Thanks.
Baller 6balls Posted August 23, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2012 I have to think no worries on the white.
Baller Chuck_Dickey Posted August 24, 2012 Baller Share Posted August 24, 2012 White is damaged just as fast, just harder to see. If you keep a good marine wax on it you should be fine. My cover goes all the way down and even tucks under as you pull the cord tight.
