Tank
Am looking for a water ski rack for my Skylon Swoop tower. Do you guys have any suggestions? Am new to towers and would like to put two of our "double booted" skis up instead of in the boat. Thanks everyone for your help as I am a total newbie to towers! Baller Skoot1123 Posted September 14, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2012 @Tank - I believe there are some mounts that can be attached/bolted/tightened to your tower with a removable rack. We have one on our Monster Tower. Doesn't get much use with the ski's we have now though - but the "beater" ski's we have put on there plenty of times. Baller PBD Posted September 14, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2012 You might try one of these although they are for wake boards they should be able to hold a ski: http://www.skylonsports.com/wakeboard-racks.html Google is your friend. Baller Waternut Posted September 15, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 15, 2012 I've been seriously considering one of these for simplicity but mine can be tucked away in the sides of the boat if I'm really careful with placement. http://www.diywake.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=
Tank
Thanks everyone. So I'm getting the feeling most would not want to put their skis in a rack. Does the rack holder scratch or damage the skis? Again, I am totally new to towers.
Tank
Thanks everyone! jfw432...I looked at the rack you're thinking about. One question though...can you turn the clamp so it is vertical and not horizontal? On my swoop tower, I would need to clamp it to the vertical. Best price I've seen though!! Baller Waternut Posted September 15, 2012 Baller Share Posted September 15, 2012 The racks have rubber inserts to keep from scratching the ski's. The rack I linked would at least be able to mount vertical or horizontal because their clamps are square. If you look at all the other racks they have for sale, many can actually be mounted in 30° increments. The purpose of that was really to allow them to be mounted horizontally on angled tower legs. I bought a wakeboarding tower and wakeboard rack from those guy and if you call to ask questions, they're actually pretty helpful.
