Dimension & thread for the Radar ski binding screws?

Hi ski gurus

 

Looking for some spare and replacement screws for my bindings (Stainless Steel, standard onces seems to corrode).

Anyway it would be nice to have some spare just in case.

 

Since 99% of all screws are mm in EU I would have to order them.

Would the correct denomination be some thing like : #8 = 0.164 (4.16 mm). UNF or UNC?

Are you talking about the ones that hold the boot to the plate or the ones that hold the plate to the ski? Most ski threaded inserts are 8-32 thread.

got mine at a specialty fasener shop and they called them a #6 machine screw.

UNF or UNC are "Unified" threads, F are fine, C are course. @Wayne is correct skis usually use a Number 8 UNC, which is a Number 8 32 threads/inch. Or 8-32 machine screw.

 

I don't think radar uses a number six, as most bindings have holes that are for the number 8 size.

 

 

 

A number 8 UNF for the record is an 8-36 if you consult "thread charts" you should be able to pull that info.

Has anyone found a source for the spacer, riser washers that sit between the ski and the Radar sequence plate on the front and back screws?

oops your right just went and looked at the box and its #8 screws.

I will try to get some 8-32 in this world of Metrics here in Europe.

Wayne. It is the same thread in the bindings and in the Inserts.

 

eddie roberts jr. I have the large AL plate and my back inserts are getting worn out.

I made square ones and they keep the plate better attached to the ski.

Unfortunately I had slightly to thin material so this might limit the ski flex a bit.

Would you advice me to replace them to increase the flex?
