"Skiing Injury"...

After a good first set, was about to get ready for my second. For no particular reason, I kicked one of my palm protectors that was laying on the dock.

Result: I put a 1.5 inch wood splinter under my left foot metatarsal. No way of taking it out by myself, ended up in the ER room...

Felt more than a little stupid...

I learned my lesson to be careful on wooden docks. About 4 years ago I got a splinter like that in my foot during one of our parties after a couple of beers. I went to my moms foot specialist to have it removed. We call it my $4,000 splinter.

@liquid d A couple friends carpeted their docks last year too. One just did the high traffic area which is what my plan is. The other did an entire dock. The guy who did his whole dock actually put screws with countersunk washers about every 1-2 feet along the edges so that he could pull the carpet up during the off season. I think it would be huge in terms of not scratching ski equipment too.
