If it's the black stuff, just throw the ski in the trash and get a new one. LOL. THAT stuff is always a royal pain in the A$$ to get off. It only took once for me to start ordering the clear. I found that I could soak it in orange glue remover overnight and it would soften it up enough to scrape off fairly easily.

Get a spray can of 3M Adhesive Remover. It runs about 20-25 dollars for one can, but will last many years. I try to carefully peel the dual lock from one end to the other to minimize how much stays with the ski or plate. Then spray a little of the 3M adhesive remover on the glue that remains, rub the bigger chunks right off with my thumbs, then use an old rag and a little more 3M. Pretty easy really with this stuff - white or black.

I have used WD-40 pretty successfully in the past. Peal off the dual lock as cleanly as possible then spray whats left with the WD and let it soak. Re-spray to keep it good and wet and in an hour or two all the residue will just wipe right off. No chance of ruining the ski with the WD-40 either.

Get a Goo Gone (in any hardware store or walmart), soak the black parts completely, leave it on for a while, and then just peel off the stripes. Works like magic. Believe me, lots of Velcro experience! Make sure to clean the ski thoughtfully before re-velcroing
