Baller disland Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 Video tells no lies. My ski buddies have all kinds of theories but once I look at the video in slow motion usually the problem is very obvious.
Baller jwr Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 Hardly ever. I always see what I'm doing wrong when I video, I just rarely have an extra person in the boat to video. Guess I need to buy a camera mount.
Baller jwr Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 Thanks a lot for this thread. Impulse buy. Just ordered an EZ cam.

Baller jwr Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 @KcSwerver I know, but I've been thinking about it for awhile. I never get to see myself ski, so I'm always guessing at what I'm doing. Got some video a couple of weeks ago, and it helped me figure out some things I was doing very wrong. This thread just reminded me I needed to get camera mount, so I ordered it while I was thinking about it.
Baller Ed_Johnson Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 Every set since 1995...Both tricks and slalom...It is the greatest coach ever....Slo-mo shows everything your doing wrong, and sometimes you get to see something you actually did right. Those are OMG off the couch moments...Rare though !!!
Baller Shortenit Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 Every set. Indispensable. Especially in slow motion. Your body lies to you. What you think and feel it is doing is not always the case. Video shows you reality. (Even if it is depressing to watch!)

Baller Chef23 Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 I should definitely do it more but setting up the Trakker is a pain in the but so it usually stays behind the passenger seat under the dashboard.
Baller Waternut Posted July 22, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 22, 2013 I try to get at least one video session each week. So far it has really helped me...not really because I know what I'm doing right/wrong but because I can show it to friends and you guys so you can tell me what I'm doing wrong. haha
bogboy
I haven't yet, just asked my wife if her I phone takes video, I would like to, and get some help, feedback.
Baller SkiJay Posted July 24, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 24, 2013 I call my pylon mounted Hero 2 my lie detector. Sometimes I think I've nailed the technique I'm after. The video often sets me straight, and it's making a big difference.
bigtallweed
I just received my Wakeye set up for a shock tube and video camera. My vote should be " plan to video once a week or more. In the past it has been a couple of times a year do to no camera person. I do beleive it is a great training tool.
Baller ktm300 Posted July 24, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 24, 2013 Just started mid season with video. 75% of my sets. Man have I been stupid for not doing this sooner. So much of what I "felt" or thought I was doing was just not the case. One of the biggest benefits is being able to get coaching from others who can watch the video and give me feedback. Joeprunc
Hardly ever....but I did the other weekend and realized 2 things: 1) I still suck. 2) I have improved.
