Baller GOODESkier Posted November 30, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 Wondering if anyone has had good luck with an adhesive remover to get the left over chunks of dual lock glue off a goode powershell plate? Was thinking WD-40, but figured someone would have used something better/easier and willing to recommend it to me.

Baller wtrskior Posted November 30, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 Goo gone citrus remover. Pull the tape off, then soak the remaining foam backed adhesive with the goo gone. The foam should soak up the fluid nicely, just lightly reapply a few times over a 4-6 hours and scrape it off with a plastic scraper (plastic drywall putty scrapers work well). Should come right off. Time is your friend and the citrus goo gone won't harm the ski at all. Wash the ski with soap and water.
Chuck_Dickey
Check with your ski mfg. I use to use mineral spirits when used dual lock. The clear dual lock doesn't leave much if any behind.
Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted November 30, 2014 Supporting Member Share Posted November 30, 2014 Whatever you use, soak it as long as you can stand and then another 8 hours after that. Especially if using the black adhesive which is sometimes needed when using DL as screws rather than a release mechanism.
Baller GOODESkier Posted November 30, 2014 Author Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 This is just clear 250 dual lock. It just left a few chunks of the clear glue behind. I will try the citrus based first. It is just on the plate, so no worry on hurting a ski.
londonskier
I've tried Goo Gone, lighter fluid, white spirit, you name it. To remove it easily there is one way. Purchase a tube of silicone remover. Apply, leave an hour, its gone! Particularly the PS plate was difficult to do without this. Ski was no problem. My dual lock is ready to be renewed for next season so I will do mine soon. That OB4 system looks good and no messy Dual lock!
londonskier
@GOODESkier as we are talking PS5's, how do you stop the boots over rotating? After every set, my front boot has moved anti-clockwise, and more so, the rear has moved clockwise, as far as it will go. (LFF).

Baller Zman Posted November 30, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 Solvent free is a good thing, and I found it more effective than goo gone. If you peel the dual lock a bit carefully, should be minimal amount that needs to be removed with this.
Baller oldjeep Posted November 30, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 @Zman - never seen that before. I use the hard core solvent stuff for everything. Haven't had it damage any surfaces yet. Stuff is banned in CA, so you know it is good ;) http://3mcollision.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/0/8/08987.jpg
Baller Dirt Posted November 30, 2014 Baller Share Posted November 30, 2014 Walmart sells 3m adhesive remover in a spray can. They sell it in CA. No need to let it soak or put it in the sun. Removes the black foam tape pretty easily. Wear gloves and respirator if you can.

Baller Zman Posted February 10, 2015 Baller Share Posted February 10, 2015 @GOODESkier I found this online - seems to have the best price. Can't remember where I bought mine, but remember paying about $19, so this is close. One can will last almost forever. zoro.com/i/G1202047/?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google_Shopping_Feed&gclid=CKGb87X1o8ICFa1zMgodlAcASw
