Baller skiinxs Posted March 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted March 28, 2015 gmpowertrain.com/MarineEnginesControllers/ProductPortfolio.aspx With 2015 being the last year for the marine small block Chevy (5.7) I noticed in the Correct Craft press release today that "GM Marine Technology is a title sponsor of the Masters" In the press release it is mentioned that "Masters attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the all-new power options for 2016 ". It will be interesting to see which of the new direct injected engines will make it into our boats. Their web site published specs, including horsepower and torque. I think the final tune by PCM changes those specs somewhat, but they do appear to be healthy and LIGHT with their aluminum blocks. Cost will be another interesting facet. It will an interesting year......
Baller MopedMedicks Posted May 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 7, 2015 I was wondering if we were going to see an update on PCM's website with more details, well into MY2015 now. Might we see the 5.3L in a 200? More peak power than the outgoing 343 HP Excalibur, though I worry about the torque curve.
Baller swc5150 Posted May 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 7, 2015 Probably goes without saying, but a promo buddy said the 2016 engines will be expensive. Just what the sports needs, a big price jump on new boats:(
Baller oldjeep Posted May 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 7, 2015 I know that everyone who has ever owned a 5.3L powered truck has been eagerly awaiting it being offered in a boat. Or maybe it'll offer better performance in a boat than it does in a truck ;)
Baller swc5150 Posted May 7, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 7, 2015 I should add to my comment that new, modern engines are a welcome addition though...even if they are more scratch.

Administrators Horton Posted July 18, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 18, 2015 From what I have heard the new lumps cost at least 5k more. Baller dbutcher Posted July 18, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2015 The 5.7L is still on GM's marine web site. Does that mean it may still be available for 2016?
Administrators Horton Posted July 18, 2015 Administrators Share Posted July 18, 2015 @dbutcher What I have heard is that in 2016 you may not be able to get a 5.7 in some new boats and by 2017 it is unlikely you will find a 5.7 in any new boat. Baller nam1975 Posted July 18, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2015 Ford or Chrysler doesn't have an interest in the marine market? Any reason why?
Baller oldjeep Posted July 19, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 19, 2015 Ford seems to have an interest. Looked at what indmar is selling lately?
Baller nam1975 Posted July 20, 2015 Baller Share Posted July 20, 2015 Ok, the Raptor 6.2 is going in wakeboard boats it looks like. The 6 cylinder Ecoboost in a slalom tug would be interesting?
