Baller Chef23 Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 They always officially release a new ski at nationals but frequently with Goode you see them in the wild before Nationals and can sometimes buy them also. As @Horton frequently says the ski manufacturers are always working on the next ski.
Baller bkreis Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 @klindy , miller has powershell set pieces in, scott does not, plates appear different due to set pieces
Baller RAWSki Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 It kind of looks like the the fin box is mounted to the ski farther forward and not on the sides---- the fin is 'floating' over the split tail, didn't Hexcel do some of this to Snow Skis 30 years ago? Baller Jordan Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 check out Chadd's boot setup....looks like both boots are rotated the same way, and the back boot appears to be off-centre.

klindy
@bkreis I realize the puzzle pieces are on Daves ski. I was looking at the position of the toe of the front boot. They appear to be the same size (or close) and the toe of chads boot is clearly farther forward. Again It could just be the camera angle too. Baller GOODESkier Posted April 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 27, 2015 @klindy look how much bigger Chad's boots are! Measure from the rear of the front boot. Bet they are within 1/16.

Administrators Horton Posted April 29, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 29, 2015 The new secret stuff just might work. I just got word that CP ran 1.5 @ 43 today on the new thingie. I saw a prototype of the secret “whatever it is” a few months ago and have to confess I thought it was the wackiest thing I had ever seen. Now I am starting to think maybe there is something to it. Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted April 29, 2015 Supporting Member Share Posted April 29, 2015 At this point, only "the wackiest thing you've ever seen" has any chance of being a real breakthrough. Of course, appearing wacky is only a necessary condition for a breakthrough -- very far from a sufficient one!
Baller_ Wish Posted April 29, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted April 29, 2015 Lots of twisty bendy ideas out there for the ski tips and tails. I see designs being pushed way past rocker, bevels, flex and shape. Nice leak by Goode.
Baller thager Posted April 29, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 29, 2015 I know, let's combine a power stick with an adjustable fin! Aluminum is cheap. Let's save .55 ounces on carbon fiber. It's expensive!

Baller Skihack Posted April 29, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 29, 2015 Looks to me to be a longer version of the rocker block. Now we can adjust rocker along with fin.

Baller MrJones Posted April 29, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 29, 2015 ... and the limiting factor will still be skill and physical capability. It is much easier to buy a new ski than improve either one of those things.
Baller alex38 Posted April 29, 2015 Baller Share Posted April 29, 2015 Is it not a floating fin that allows the tail to flex? Or is that not possible, or is it the greatest idea ever!! If that's not what it is.

Baller drewski32 Posted May 4, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 4, 2015 If the fin is mounted further forward, wouldn't that just change the place where the ski can't flex because of the block? So the tail can flex, but what about the place further forward where it's mounted? I don't know much about ski flex, so is the ski supposed to be stiffer there? Baller_ The_MS Posted May 6, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted May 6, 2015 Another awesome marketing trick from Goode. Put the feelers out there and keep people from buying other skis until the product is ready to deploy. Cant wait to try it.

Baller Chef23 Posted May 25, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 25, 2015 @rico I don't ski on Goode but the 9800 broke regularly but I don't think the skis from the 9900 forward had that problem and they have a much better warranty (I believe 5 years) now. I don't think ski durability is an issue right now.

Baller aupatking Posted May 25, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 25, 2015 @ShaneH I saw the "fellow Goode skiers", just thought it was an oversight. Good luck to him (Greg, if anyone missed) with Goode. He was a great ambassador for HO and a really nice guy. Probably still is a nice guy.
Baller ForrestGump Posted May 25, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 25, 2015 @rico You're mistakenly equating breakage with defect or poor manufacturing process. Dave himself will now tell you that he and his customers value the lower resin content and lighter weight for performance reasons, as opposed to heavier construction for longevity.
Baller aupatking Posted May 25, 2015 Baller Share Posted May 25, 2015 I'd say breakage is a defect. I'm with @rico , if I personally know of 5 that have broken, and it hasn't even reached market, I'd say I'll wait too. May very well be one of the things they are working on rectifying before release.
