Baller dchristman Posted June 14, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 14, 2015 A temporary condition - relax. Conditions will improve. Do mental practice in the mean time.
Baller LeonL Posted June 15, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 @A_B , send some of that rain down to KY. We'll take it.
Baller_ MISkier Posted June 15, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted June 15, 2015 For the days that say 30% chance, I usually find that it does not rain that day or there is a big enough window to get some skiing in. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller A_B Posted June 15, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 I wish we could send a few million gallons. Crazy high water with no end in site. Like skiing in a swimming pool. Maybe I should start bottling it.
Baller foxriverat Posted June 15, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 Dammit. Same thing in Illinois. Second day in a row up at 5 am to ski and it just started raining again.
Baller Skoot1123 Posted June 15, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 I hear ya @AB - so much rain in the past weekend. Continued rain here for at least the next week. Doesn't bode well for skiing or building a house!
Baller oldjeep Posted June 15, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 I think it is even worse when the weather has been great and everyone has had other plans.
Baller adkh2oskier Posted June 15, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 Same in northern NY. Missed the window to put my course in about 2 weeks ago when the water level was approaching normal summer and almost warm enough to get out of the shorty. The past week is has shot up about 2', back at spring high water levels. forecast looks like more rain for the next week, first tournament 6/27, hope I get to ski a few sets before then, but free skiing open water looks like it will have to suffice. Shakeski
+1 for rough weather in IL. Makes it hard to plan for larger outings. Its mid June already... moving too fast
Baller foxriverat Posted June 15, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 After replacing the 5 ball that some jag must have run over yesterday. I was able to get a window and get some runs in this morning.
Baller A_B Posted June 15, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted June 15, 2015 Me and the weather are just out of sync this year. Don't have the course in and only went out once so far. Might as well just finish the basement project at this point. On the bright side, maybe our high-hour SN will be a Medium-Hour SN by next year? Tdub
Yep @A_B Worst June ever. If it is warm the wind is howling out of the WSW or it is cool with a substantial NE wind. Our course hates a west wind and not too fond of northeast either. Gonna take up windsurfing.
Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted June 15, 2015 Supporting Member Share Posted June 15, 2015 @Tdub yep. Same story on my sight. BAH! Better than not skiing though!!
Baller rayn Posted June 16, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 16, 2015 Let's be clear @Than_Bogan will ski in anything. He didn't mention that we have also been fighting backwash from the rain.
gt2003
Same thing here. All the boat ramps are covered with literally FEET of water. Glad we found a super secret slalom lake to ski at in the mean time!
Baller skihard Posted June 16, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 16, 2015 We be hunkering down for another drop of too much rain here in Southeast Texas. Tropical Storm Bill will be hitting land anytime now and giving us more of what we would really like to send west to California! Damn!
Baller Texas6 Posted June 16, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 16, 2015 Tropical Storm hits here today at 1pm. Expecting another 7-10" of rain in Houston
Baller estrom Posted June 16, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 16, 2015 Oh how I wish we could get any sort of storm through norcal. 10" here would barely scratch the surface. I hope you guys don't get negatively impacted with flooding or anything.
Baller sunperch Posted June 16, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 16, 2015 @scotchipman Is this what you meant about skiing between storms? And this is what we got after we skied.
Baller_ lpskier Posted June 17, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted June 17, 2015 Our buoys can't be raised any higher. But the water is warm enough and we've had plenty of skiable mornings in the three weeks since I returned to the northern Adirondacks from a winter in Florida. Baller DUSkier Posted June 17, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 17, 2015 YES it can be worse, move to Southern hemisphere, 11c here today and have not seen the sun for 3 days
shyskier
May was wet & windy in Co, finally got on the water 5/23 air & water lower 50s. This weekend near 90 & almost no chance of rain. Hopefully this will move east for you guys soon. Maybe after Bill passes by.
Baller LeonL Posted June 19, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 19, 2015 We started getting the first fringe of Bill yesterday. We need the rain. Our problem all May was cold, then June wind that won't stop.
Baller TEL Posted June 19, 2015 Baller Share Posted June 19, 2015 Rain storms have been missing my lake. The boat is stuck on the lift there is 4 inches of water under the back third of the boat. Skiing is done till it rains over the lake.
nzcabbage
Yes it could be worse...........you live at the bottom of the world so its winter and the rain radar looks like this........a Saturday inside for those of us in the North Island........BUT tomorrow is the 21st ......the Winter Solstice and the days start getting longer!
