Baller Edbrazil Posted August 4, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 4, 2015 Okee has been hit hard before. Couple of hurricanes. Wonder how the jump ramp fared this time? Nasty thunderstorm came through when they were preparing for the 1989 Worlds. Zapped some computer stuff. Florida can really throw some weather at you. West central Florida, as in the Tampa area, has been getting rain-rain-rain. Over several days. And well over a foot of rain in some places. Baller gregy Posted August 4, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 4, 2015 Wow, that one tree is pretty big. I'd say that thing has weathered quite a few storms previously. We had a thunderstorm come through one evening and the wind was blowing right down the lake. It wasn't near as severe as what OB is describing and the smallest slalom lake had 2 to 3 foot whitecaps. I couldn't believe how quickly they were building up in that small of a lake.

Baller LLUSA Posted August 4, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 4, 2015 Sorry to see that looks like maybe straight line winds, OB you should sit through an F5 coming right at you, sad think is with all the regulations in WPB permitting construction will take forever to replace
Baller_ Wish Posted August 4, 2015 Author Baller_ Share Posted August 4, 2015 There's a video on face book from someone's car that clearly shows depres fling in a tornanatic fashion on the streets near by. Without question a tight rotation as objects get sucked up into it and head higher and higher.
jrs
Palm Beach County Parks sent in a large clean up crew early this morning. By noon they had removed 90% of the downed trees and debris from our 2 roofs and other items. They have already started construction on a new roof for the main judging tower. The new roof is expected to be complete on Friday along with reconnecting the electric. The roof for the Turnpike starting dock will not get replaced at this time. We will use a canopy on this starting dock for Nationals and rebuild the dock this winter. A quick response from Palm Beach County Parks and the Ski Club of the Palm Beaches will have Okeeheelee Park 100% ready to host the 2015 National Championships starting next week on the 11th. Baller klindy Posted August 5, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 5, 2015 That's awesome @jrs !! Great work! Fantastic to see the county park system support the effort that much! I realize Okee is a County Park but response like this is virtually unprecedented!
