I recently switched over to Powershells and had an issue with the Interloc today. During my set I could feel the plate separating from the blank. After reattaching the plate I went out again and immediately the plate again came loose. After taking the plate off the blank to inspect, I notices the Interloc itself separating. The top mushroom later literally came apart from the adhesive layer, leaving the adhesive on the blank.

I believe the exact material I used was 3M Dual Lock Clear Type 250.

I have about 2 hours into cleaning off the adhesive using mineral spirits, a putty knife, and sanding sponge. I am about there but a little unsure why this happed and if I am using the correct Interloc.

Has anyone experienced the same situation? Could this be an isolate occurrence with Type 250 and are others using it? Or should I be buying the stuff right from Goode?

Any input would be extremely helpful and appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

I bought it off a friend who may have had it awhile. So it could have been old. However I have been skiing with it for a couple months with no issue till now. Sounds like this is the right material? I am reluctant to buy more. Do you know if the material Goode sells is any different?

Appreciate for the follow up. I will be buying new very soon. At this point I am looking for some insight on whether the Clear 250 is the correct lock (or if that is what most are using).

I didn't think this stuff had a shelf life. It makes it tough even when buying it since you don't know how long the vendor may have it in their inventory.

Would anyone mind sharing where you purchase (assuming you have not ran into the same issue)?

Thanks in advance.

One of the main issues is keeping the Dual Lock away from HEAT, even if it's new in a box...Really important once it's attached to the ski to keep it out of the sun as much as possible and store your ski in a cool household environment...Never a Hot Car Trunk or Shed that gets hot.

Not a fan of the clear..Easier to remove, but isn't as strong as the Black Based Dual Lock.

@JP77 I purchased some from Performance Ski in Orlando earlier this year - you can order and they'll ship. We use the clear 250 and it seems to work fine. Released a couple of times on tough falls and stays on when need to. Good luck

Thanks for everyone's input. I am guessing the heat likely caused the issue from my ski being in the back of my truck for a long period of time. Lesson learned!

Scot - Appreciate you taking the time to post this information. HUGE help.
