brettmag
I have a 2008 Connelly F1 with the same year of fastback bindings. I'm considering a new ski (maybe a Vapor) and wondering if I can use these bindings on a Radar ski? Are the hole patterns different? Thanks! Baller_ lpskier Posted September 1, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted September 1, 2015 Yes. Radar and Connelly use the same binding to ski hole pattern. Lpskier

ricski39
@brettmag I'm going to have to disagree with @lpskier on this one. This is kind of tricky and I hope I don't confuse anyone, but it breaks down like this: Every ski manufacturer has the same hole pattern for their front bindings. HO/Radar/O'Brien have the same rear hole pattern, and Connelly/D3 have the same rear hole pattern in their skis. (But if you ask nicely D3 will send you a rear HO hole pattern) The rear Radar bindings however are setup to be compatible with all ski manufacturer hole patterns. The long and the short of it is, if you want to put Radar bindings on your Connelly ski, you won't have a problem, if you want to put the Fastback bindings on your new Radar ski, that won't work out as well. My personal opinion would be to get off of the Fastback bindings, you don't really release from them too well and I've know two different people that have suffered a broken ankle from a crash in those bindings. ricski39
I take that back. If you get a Radar ski you're going to have both rear hole patterns. You'll be okay. However I would still look into getting a different binding system.
Baller Booze Posted September 2, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2015 My toeplate, that has worked with every Goode with inserts and the T2, did not fit on the new GT.
Baller oldjeep Posted September 2, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2015 I think it is amazing that you have a set of working fastback bindings. I ripped the cables out of 2 front boots and my brother inlaw broke one as well. I currently use the sidewinder (front) on a radar ski with a radar artp on back. brettmag
Thanks for the input. I'm on my second front binding because I broke the part where the cable attaches. You're right that they don't release well. What would you recommend?
brettmag
I mean what type of new bindings? I don't want hard shells or rtp.
Baller schafer Posted September 2, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2015 try the Radar Vapor bindings
Baller oldjeep Posted September 2, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2015 If you like the fastbacks, try the sidewinder. The first year of the sidewinder (white) had the same too grippy liner that the fastbacks had, the later ones(black) have always come off fine for me. Baller TallSkinnyGuy Posted September 2, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2015 I tried the Connelly Sidewinders and they did not work for my foot but found the Connelly Talons to be great. The Talons are similar to the Radar Vectors and other bindings of that ilk (open toe, lace on lower half and separate lace on upper half).
ricski39
If you're looking for a good binding that won't cost you a lot of money then you should look a getting a pair of Radar Vector bindings.
mopowpow
I've got a pair of Vectors for sale: http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Bindings&postid=33867
