Baller schafer Posted September 12, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 12, 2015 Pulling sets last night. Boat runs fine. My turn to ski. 3rd pass hole shot. Driver says its revving and not much power. I chock it up to driver error. Today. Go out. Drive 8 passes with no skier. Seems all good. So I hop in the water. Good for 2 passes. Third pass seems gutless. So I drop and boat comes around. Put throttle to neutral and it stays in gear and keeps going forward. Try to put in reverse and it tries to stall. Can slowly gain speed going forward but can't put in neutral. Is my transmission cooked? How much money should I be preparing for?

Baller schafer Posted September 12, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 12, 2015 It doesn't make any strange or grinding noises. So possibly linkage or cable?
Baller rockdog Posted September 12, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 12, 2015 The linkage in mine was slipping in and out once due to a sirclip half unseating itself. Right where the linkage goes into the trans. Similar kind of symptoms.

Baller schafer Posted October 1, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted October 1, 2015 Been extremely busy. But I had a friend in Portland the week after my transmission blew. And @JAS had a rebuilt pcm transmission for sale. He went out of his way to get my friend the transmission so that he could bring it home for me. I popped it in on a Sunday morning in only a few hours learning as I went. And it's been running perfect for 10 days now. So thanks so much Jay. Ballers are awesome. Baller JAS Posted October 1, 2015 Baller Share Posted October 1, 2015 Glad all worked out. Was wondering what TSA thought when they looked in the ice chest and and saw tha 1:23 transmission. Good folk on this site , should all meet at Horton's some time.
Baller schafer Posted October 1, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted October 1, 2015 Oh PS. @JAS is very innovative. This is how he prepared the transmission to be taken on the plane with my buddy. It worked perfectly.
