Greg Lukin
hi all, I'm changing from a Connolly carbon V 69 to a 68 A3 - starting to reach 36mph consistantly now so I thought I would upgrade. I have ob4 bindings if that makes any difference. Since I'm changing the ski size would the distance my boot is from the tail of the ski change? Or should I leave it the same - It just seems quite a bit further back based on the marks from the original bolts on the carbon V? hope that makes sense...cheers

Baller Chef23 Posted January 13, 2016 Baller Share Posted January 13, 2016 You should find what the settings are for DFT for a 68" A3 and start there. Binding position is different on different skis and I would expect it would be different on a 68"A3 than a 69" Carbon V. It looks like a good starting position for the A3 would be 30". Binding location and fin settings can be found here:

Baller mmosley899 Posted January 16, 2016 Baller Share Posted January 16, 2016 @Greg Lukin I have typically been running my OB4 boots 1/8 - 1/4 inch back from factory on my HO skis. Personal preference though... Mike's Overall Binding USA Water Ski Senior Judge Senior Driver Senior Tech Controller
Baller SkiJay Posted January 16, 2016 Baller Share Posted January 16, 2016 @Greg Lukin Binding position is a highly personal metric. Wherever you decide to start, experiment with positions both fore and aft of that to establish where your ski responds best to your personal traits, gear, and ski habits. Baller Adam Caldwell Posted January 17, 2016 Baller Share Posted January 17, 2016 Binding type, style, and mobility are a huge factor in position, in addition, height and weight also play a factor. Published settings should only be used as a guide.
