I've been out for a couple of weeks now after injuring my shoulder (fractured the tip of my humerus). The doctor informed me today that It'll be another 4 weeks before I can get back at it. Seeing how I cannot use my shoulder, what have others done to keep in shape in the mean time?

I don't know exactly what you have at your disposal. Stationary bike, Walk, just stay active and eat the best you can. Injury gets into my head very easily. I don't like being sidelined and have to be very conscious not to fall off the wagon when I have a setback. So, do what you can, eat right and realize it's only temporary!

Hi Pat.

If you're doing any gym work, just work unilaterally for the upper body. A process known as cross transference triggers the body to maintain/build muscle on one side of the body when working the other.

Also, take advantage of the downtime on the upper body to make increases on the lower body. And as much as I dislike aerobic training, that's always an option.

I've had way to much experience with this the past two years.
