  1. I had the same issue a little over a year ago @Ali on my 2017. Skip helped me troubleshoot as well. The throttle was replaced under warranty at Miami Nautiques. It's starting the same process over again. Occasionally won't start and emits a fuzzy/shorting sound from the throttle. I'm sure I'll need a new one again soon. @Bdecker, do you know when the redesign was done/or redesign part number?
  2. @ral, add the OkeeApp to your to do list...get air/wind/water readings at the lake. OkeeApp for IOS OkeeApp for Droid You can also join the club from the app...actually easier to do here.
  3. @ral, Welcome to WPB. Always fun here in the winter time...and quite busy. Nov/December are my favorite months to ski here with water that's still warm and much less humidity. You're welcome to join the club. You don't have to be a full time resident or even be local to the area. We take all members (USA Water Ski membership required.) We have monthly meetings (currently via zoom) if you'd like to get to know the crew here. Join SCPB See you around the docks.
  4. @Horton , some of it is just habit. I really enjoy making effortless passes to drill it into my muscle memory. I should ski more 35's if my body is willing. My main point is, I think there is a lot of value in perfecting your previous passes and not drill on the one you can't make more than, say, 25% of the time (I'm no where near that currently). Of course, this could also be why I'm not skiing 38 consistently too :)
  5. When I'm skiing well, I'm typically at @Horton 's level described above. About 90% of my passes are nothing but 32's trying to refine every aspect of the pass. I start and end there most of the time. When I feel I've fixed some things, I'll run nothing but 35's. Start and end there, for about 6 passes. For me, this exposes my flaws, then I can go back to 32 and work on those problem areas. Off the water, closing your eyes and visualizing the pass is, potentially, more important. You'd think you could run perfect passes in your mind, but that's not the case at all. I'm very visually oriented, so my flaws skiing are highlighted even more when visualizing.
  6. @C5Quest , I don't have a delete function for ski's you've added to you list. Maybe in the future. @aupatking , that's correct regarding Denali stock settings. My app doesn't accommodate ranges for stock settings. Also, the app doesn't accommodate ski's that don't have specified lengths. If Denali wants to have their skis added to the app, they can contact me and give me some specifics I can work with.
  7. Agreed. By far, the best webcast to date. Picture quality, format, and number of camera's/angles were first rate.
  8. The updated version of finDB has the ability to search for different skis to view the settings others are riding. The Radar Pro Build is the most popular ski in the system. This just went into production over the weekend, so not many have opted into this 'finShare' feature yet, but there are a few Pro Build settings being shared. Go to 'finShare' in the menu after logging in. finDB for IOS finDB for Android
  9. Hi All, Several enhancements to the finDB mobile app, most notably the feature to allow users to share their fin setup information with other users. This is not a mandatory feature for using the finDB mobile app. Users will need to opt into this feature before data will be shared to members they approve. I need some testers, especially those with Android devices. Please send me a direct message if you are willing to help out. Thanks.
  10. @DanE Spencers binding at 29.5625 is the equivalent of 29-9/16" using a measuring tape.
  11. Agree, Chet is one of the great coaches and worth a visit or two when you're in the area. If you can't get in there, or you're staying further north, Hobe Sound is the place to go and ski with Wim. You can sign up, pay, and schedule your sets online. https://www.hobelakeskiclub.com/
  12. Reiterating some of the above, but I've learned within the same manufacturer, my settings work well on all of their ski's. I tend to ride oversized ski's so my set-up is far from factory, but it does work well. About 900 ski's in the database now...use this to track your settings. finDB for IOS finDB for Android I'm putting together a new release and may include a spreadsheet export if it's a desired feature.
  13. @savaiusini I've made the stock fin data available for anyone to use via an API. I mentioned it to @OSSKI for when he's ready to incorporate the data into his web app. Data is here: https://api.paulsantangelo.com/skis/
  14. @OSSKI look forward to seeing what you've developed. If you need stock settings for skis, I have an API you can access to pull data (JSON format). Currently it has 856 stock settings for various manufacturers. Here is the API documentation: https://api.paulsantangelo.com/skis/ Currently, it's an open API, but I may add an API key in the future. It will also allow users to browse the data as HTML with a query parameter added to the URL string as indicated in the API docs. This API accesses the same data used for the finDB mobile app: finDB for IOS finDB for Android Let me know if you have any questions. Paul Santangelo
  15. Agree with @JAS, best Flow Point episode yet. While Wade is a great and interesting character, Marcus is developing into a first rate interviewer. Very well done.
  16. Good to hear all the memories. I didn't know him very well, but I do recall our first and last meetings. I also recall the words he said on those two occasions..."I love you." Those of you who skied with him are smiling right now. Great memories. Throttle down Dave. RIP.
  17. For the cases of 'No Video' does this imply that when the governing body requested the video for review, the the tech controller couldn't produce it? If so, it sounds like the governing body should be looking into the role the TC played in these cases.
  18. @jepski the other course is at the Coopers house...about halfway up Gills creek on the right hand side. Can't miss it.
  19. I've been on an NRG for over a year now...still love it. I tried both the NRG R1 and the EVO S recently. The R1 is nothing like the original NRG. More aggressive and felt slightly quicker. Did not have the super smooth turns as the NRG orig in my opinion...I prefer a little time at the end of the turn to get into position. The EVO-S was really nice. Had a hard time sending it back...just wasn't in the budget right now, but if you're looking for a change in size and want to get a ski, demo both for $70, but I think you'll come out on the EVO S if you like your current NRG. BTW, I'm on a 67 and at the very bottom of the weight range (165) @34 mph. Can't beat the demo program...give it a go.
  20. Hi Jeff, As @lpskier says, you can show up at the lake and ask for a pull, but there is no 'ski school' per se at Okeeheelee. I'm not sure if I'll be around at that time, but you can DM me as the date gets closer. Christmas time through New Years is one of the busiest times of the year....there may be 15+ boats in the middle of the day, so it takes considerable time to get a ski set. The best option, if you have limited time, is to ski at Hobe Lake Ski Club as you can schedule and pay for your set online. Ski set's are blocked off in 30 minute increments from 7am-7pm. It's about 35 minutes north of WPB proper.
  21. Not a fan of the blue threads running through the ropes either. Has already caused issues with putting the rope on the incorrect loop in a tournament. Fortunately, it was caught before the skier was pulled out of the water.
  22. We will be running a practice lake every day staring on Sunday at Lake 5/Practice Lake. We will also run practice on Main and Turnpike lake after competition completes for the day.
  23. Okeeheelee now has a cable park which would be a blast for the kids. Always fun to go to CityPlace (now called Rosemary Square) or Clematis Street in the evening.
  24. I've been on the original NRG for about a year now and is the best ski I've ridden. R1 coming this week, so looking forward to the ride.
  25. Yes, $75 per set gets you Wim in a 2019 Nautique.
