Baller Edbrazil Posted November 15, 2016 Baller Posted November 15, 2016 Any of you following this event? Going to take up a whole week with a wide variety of age divisions. Open not until the end. See: http://www.iwwfed-ea.org/classic/16MEX08/ Hope that isn't considered a long link. Results seem to be coming slow at times. Doesn't even look like the first day's events have finished, but that could just be delay.
Baller Edbrazil Posted November 15, 2016 Author Baller Posted November 15, 2016 Looks like the scoring has caught up overnight.
Baller_ The_MS Posted November 16, 2016 Baller_ Posted November 16, 2016 Congrats to Kennedy Hansen, #1 overall girls 13 and under.
Baller skibackwards Posted November 17, 2016 Baller Posted November 17, 2016 Congratulations to Jill Smith (35+ Gold in Tricks) and Jeff Surdej (35+ Gold in Jump). 35+ men's jump went Gold, Silver, Bronze for USA
Baller klindy Posted November 17, 2016 Baller Posted November 17, 2016 We finished the U13, U17, 35+ and 45+ yesterday. Today is an "off day" with the IWWF Congress meeting and then we get started up again with U21 and Open Friday thru Sunday. There's been some great performances so far.
Baller mmosley899 Posted November 18, 2016 Baller Posted November 18, 2016 Congratulations to James Bryans #2 overall, slalom, & jump, boys under 13! Mike's Overall Binding USA Water Ski Senior Judge Senior Driver Senior Tech Controller
Baller ral Posted November 19, 2016 Baller Posted November 19, 2016 Felipe Jaramillo, U13 from Colombia, scored 5@38 off (8 buoys above the 2nd), 8050 in tricks (1030 above over the 2nd), 35,4 m in jump, for a win in overall with almost 1000 points above the 2nd. The kid can ski!
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted November 19, 2016 Baller_ Posted November 19, 2016 Here's teamwork you don't see everyday. The water here is very oily so the jumpers need to rinse out the bindings with fresh water before they hit the water. Nate and Regina pulled duty for all the under 21 US team. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
Baller Edbrazil Posted November 19, 2016 Author Baller Posted November 19, 2016 Today, the "live" results are sure slooooow coming through for me. Anyone else getting the same situation? My live feed is currently stuck after Jump 2 for Felipe Miranda, for something like 1/2 hour. Spazzovian.
Baller klindy Posted November 19, 2016 Baller Posted November 19, 2016 @Bruce_Butterfield I thought precisely the same thing!!
Baller ral Posted November 20, 2016 Baller Posted November 20, 2016 @klindy, good to have you there! Are you coming for the J. Worlds in Jan?
Baller klindy Posted November 20, 2016 Baller Posted November 20, 2016 @ral sorry not coming to the Junior Workds. I was on the initial list but somehow didn't make the final cut. Wanted to be there though! I miss seeing you guys! Hope all is well!
Baller wtrskior Posted November 20, 2016 Baller Posted November 20, 2016 Controversy in Boca Laguna? Goode skis posted a few minutes ago, but the womens slalom ended quite ago while ago where it appeared Whitney got around 3@39 and back to the wakes for the win. Check out @TeamCanSki's Tweet: https://goo.gl/ic6zCB
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted November 20, 2016 Baller_ Posted November 20, 2016 I don't know what the controversy is other than someone tweeting with bad info - not that that ever happens;) Regina got 2.5 and Whitney got 3. Nate won open men after tying with Jason McClintock with 3 at 41. Jason went first in the runoff and got 4 at 39 then nate ran it and went to the dock. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
Baller ntx Posted November 20, 2016 Baller Posted November 20, 2016 Huge props go out to 14 year old Zach Butterfield competing on the u21 team and posting a jump pb over 130 feet. Where are the rest of the male u21 USA team?
Baller jcamp Posted November 20, 2016 Baller Posted November 20, 2016 Whitney's score was originally posted as 6@38, then 3@39. My guess is that she got her gates at 39 cut. Then it was challenged and they determined she made the gates? Just a guess though. Or it just took so long for them to update Whitney's final score it just looked like her final scores was 6@38.
Baller ntx Posted November 20, 2016 Baller Posted November 20, 2016 @jcamp with the live scores, it is not unusual for them to post the last completed pass. 6@13, and a delay while the rope is shortened 6@12 etc. Need to wait till the next skiers score is posted or any score other than 6
Baller jcamp Posted November 20, 2016 Baller Posted November 20, 2016 @ntx, just edited my comment to reflect exactly what you mentioned. Sometimes the last scores get "stuck" for awhile. The Men's slalom scores were updating live while Whitney's was still showing 6@38, so it sure looked like her round was completed, but so hard to tell thousands of miles away ...
Baller Edbrazil Posted November 20, 2016 Author Baller Posted November 20, 2016 Not the most prompt postings, but you have to give the tournament organizers credit for trying, and for picking up the event in the first place. I understand that they were having Internet issues.
Baller klindy Posted November 21, 2016 Baller Posted November 21, 2016 Whitney's gate was not cut. I was a tower judge.
Baller ral Posted November 21, 2016 Baller Posted November 21, 2016 1st-2nd in Jump Open 1st overall Open 3rd tricks Open 1st Jump and Overall U21 Way to go, team Chile!

Baller klindy Posted November 21, 2016 Baller Posted November 21, 2016 @horton Ellie was terrific in all three events. And it was clear to @Bruce_Butterfield and I that she didn't get any trick or jump coaching from you!! She's an awesome athlete as are Jenna and Alli. It was an honor to be a part of the event and watch all of them perform.
Baller thager Posted November 21, 2016 Baller Posted November 21, 2016 Maybe everyone else knows who these young ladies are but, it would be nice to put a name with each face.
Baller klindy Posted November 21, 2016 Baller Posted November 21, 2016 Abbi Grathwohl, Jenna Morgan and Ellie Horton.
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted November 21, 2016 Baller_ Posted November 21, 2016 @horton the strange thing was that whenever someone asked Ellie if she knew Horton that ballofspray guy, the response was "huh? Who?" If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
Administrators Horton Posted November 21, 2016 Administrators Posted November 21, 2016 @Bruce_Butterfield Haa that is funny. When I was a kid I was known as Dr. Horton's kid. Now poor Ellie has be the niece of crazy BallOfSpray Horton. Worse yet is Taylor who is best known as Ellie's brother. It is a complicated being a Horton. Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted November 22, 2016 Baller_ Posted November 22, 2016 Here's what the Under 21 team looks like dressed up. I think the rest of the U21 boys were too intimidated by the girls to show up B) If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
Baller ntx Posted November 22, 2016 Baller Posted November 22, 2016 @Bruce_Butterfield. Poor Zach. I hope he wasn't scared.
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted November 22, 2016 Baller_ Posted November 22, 2016 @NTX - Not at all. They were like big sisters and treated him like any other skier. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding

Baller ntx Posted November 22, 2016 Baller Posted November 22, 2016 @Mark_Matis as ed would say..... Back in the day.... You can find @Horton jump scores over 170. Not too bad
