Baller WBLskier Posted February 24, 2017 Baller Share Posted February 24, 2017 I will be flying with a trick ski for the first time soon. I have a sportube 3 I use for my slalom. Any suggestions on how to pack/what to us to transport a trick to keep it safe in transit?

Baller eleeski Posted February 24, 2017 Baller Share Posted February 24, 2017 I have a hard golf club carrier. It fits the ski and and most of my clothes for the trip. The clothes protect the ski well. Very standard and common to travel with golf clubs. I haven't been charged excess baggage fees with it. Baller unksskis Posted February 24, 2017 Baller Share Posted February 24, 2017 D3 has/had a decent bag at one time, but still want to pack it in towels and clothes. I still remember multiple skiers at one Nationals with snapped trick skis, many didn't know until they opened it up at the dock. Take pictures of your bag prior to and at drop off, and check it immediately upon arrival if you check it.
Baller bigskieridaho Posted February 24, 2017 Baller Share Posted February 24, 2017 Here is a crazy idea for ya. I travel with my guitars quite a bit. You could get one of the flat electric guitar hard cases and put it in that for checked bags. Most of the time I carry on, but either way works. If a guitar fits in the overhead then a trick would as well.
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted February 24, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted February 24, 2017 If you already have a sport tube, that's perfect for a trickski. If you are taking both a slalom and trick, they will both fit without issue. Ive packed 2 slaloms and a trick in the sporttube, although it was pretty tight. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
