dhofert
So the question is, will there be somewhere to watch this?
Baller MattP Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 @dhofert it will be webcast that the same site posted above.
Baller MattP Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 Should be an awesome fight for the win with that list of skiers. 8 Skiers in this event have run 41. Parrish, Asher, Degasperi*, Smith, Travers, FWinter, Vaughn and Descuns. The ladies event looks stacked as well. Great to see such a turn out in Otown for a non Elite Sanctioned event. I hope the local skiing crowd turns up to support the event!
Baller Kelvin Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 Why not elite?
Baller MattP Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 @Kelvin I would assume because they dictate the amount of money you have to offer and it costs more money to sanction it as elite. It gets more money back in the skiers hands.

Baller Bill22 Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 Last year they had a drone with live video linked up to the webcast. They run a really nice webcast (no commercials!!!).
Baller_ Wish Posted May 10, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted May 10, 2017 Saw that drone last yr when we were there. If it had a seat on top you could ride it. It was huge. Would follow the boat just past the nose (20ft above) traveling backwards at 36mph.
Baller Stevie Boy Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 What a bummer, I am staying adjacent to swiss ski resort, but leaving on saturday for San Francisco, arrrrrrrrgh
Baller wtrskior Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 If Vince is involved in the filming it should be an excellent webcast.
Baller Luzz Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 @MattP @Kelvin There are no sanctioning fees for Elite events. The reason why SPS is not Elite is total purse. Baller MattP Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 @Luzz hmmm that could be right. But either way purse dictates if you can make elite status or not.
Baller Luzz Posted May 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2017 I would assume because they dictate the amount of money you have to offer True. and it costs more money to sanction it as elite. Half True. If you have never organized an Elite event and want to enter the Introductory Elite Program, you put 9k USD between W and M (one event), and your event is Elite. No fees to be paid. If you have 8K, you can certainly have a cash prize event, it will not be Elite. Same goes for the other steps of Introductory Elite, until you reach the 21K minimum (again, between W and M, one event). It gets more money back in the skiers hands. False. However much you put in, the skiers get. I just want to clarify this as both potential organizers and skiers alike tend to be misinformed about it. Nothing to do with SPS. Baller_ Wish Posted May 11, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted May 11, 2017 Anyone know the start times? Will there be more then one round??
dhofert
Looks like 2 rounds and a final. Sunday at 9am is when it starts, 2nd round at 1pm and finals at 4pm. I am guessing that youtube is doing the time change and it will start at those times.
