Baller Morg Posted July 18, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2017 So I have been looking for a sport bowrider & just found an Eclipse direct drive that I am considering. Looking for some input on the boat? Anyone know if it is the same slalom hull as the sport bowrider? Is the step up to the open bow a pain?? Storage??? Baller RAWSki Posted July 18, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2017 I have a 2000 eclipse and it is basically a modified falcon-sport BR hull running surface with a little more room above the water-line. I liked the step over bow and the couch seating up front is very roomy. there is some storage under the sunpad in the back for ropes and vests and plenty of storage under the observer seat. Good slalom wake. Below average tracking. Little to no spray. Most came with Merc Magnum EFI's which seem to hold up fairly well.
Baller Morg Posted July 18, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted July 18, 2017 Rawski, Do you have a Bimini on the boat & if so is tough to go under and over the hump to the bow?
Baller RAWSki Posted July 18, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2017 I do not, I would imagine if would make it tricky for people but kids wouldn't have a problem.
Baller Cent Posted July 19, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 19, 2017 Rawski gave an accurate description. Slalom wake is excellent even at low speeds kids love that open bow. There is a lot of storage.

Baller_ Wish Posted July 21, 2017 Baller_ Share Posted July 21, 2017 @Morg for the year compared to the same year boats, it scores very well against other open bows and toe to toe with some closed bow.
Baller Morg Posted July 22, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted July 22, 2017 Went and looked at the boat today. Going to see if we can work out a deal. Boat is clean. Really appreciate all of the help guys.

Baller Morg Posted August 6, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted August 6, 2017 So I got the boat. Just took it out for the first time. Upgraded from a 83' centurion. So happy with the wake. It is small and soft. Boat handles great. Thanks again for all of the advice.
Moffattra
Nice! For "market research" purposes, do you mind saying what part of the country you are in and what you paid?
Baller RAWSki Posted August 7, 2017 Baller Share Posted August 7, 2017 Enjoy the boat. The only thing I changed on the boat was I filed the rudder and upgraded to an ACME prop. @Wish nice pull from the old WSM boat tests. That was actually my boat in the photo! Got it after the tests with only 30 hours on it......
