Baller UWSkier Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 Is that really a wooden boat pulling the World Games? Are they skiing on Taper flex skis too?
Baller MattP Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 @UWSkier it is a Boesch boat. Swiss origin I believe. Traditionally know for their very very high end cruising boats in Europe. Their ski boat is Ilmor equipped with ZO. The boat is also the exclusive towboat of the German Nationals. The hull is "modern" and is constantly being tested by members of the German national team. Administrators Horton Posted July 25, 2017 Administrators Share Posted July 25, 2017 Boesch (if that is the correct spelling) has been around forever. I was unaware they still made a ski boat but it is for sure not an unknown boat in Europe. Baller andjules Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 1. World's silliest interior layout 2. But still absolutely gorgeous
Baller Booze Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 @LLUSA - for real?! Will they require two lakes? ;)
Baller UWSkier Posted July 25, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 Interesting. It does look neat, just was surprised to see anything other than one of the big three pulling an event like this.
Baller auskier Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 A few of my ski partners are there. Apparently you could pick one up for 220-250k EUROS!

Baller chris55 Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 The Boesch boat is also the boat for the Swiss national. And the wake is ok but harder than the 200 Nautique or MC (the2 ones that I skied behind). But it is a beatifull boat for sure.
Baller Edbrazil Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 Looks like a 1950s Chris Craft. Pig of a boat, except for tricks.
Baller LLUSA Posted July 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2017 @Booze that deal was done three years ago when Birmingham bid on the Worlds, not sure where you have been?? Only one lake to do this event wakeboarding is at Oak Mt State Park, rowing is on the Warrior River
Baller Nando Posted July 27, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2017 Back to the boats, the Boesch "bulge rudder" is, um, interesting. The website doesn't give much detail, but it's definitely different. Weird interior layout for sure, but kind of makes sense from a storage standpoint, though I'd hate to have to stow everything between skiers. And DEEP! Administrators Horton Posted July 27, 2017 Administrators Share Posted July 27, 2017 I have not done any research but I saw an electric option.... Anyone want to poke around and try to understand what they have going on? Members dthate
Boesch is an extremely well built boat, the wood / epoxy layup is far better (stiffer, lighter, stronger) than tupperware boats. Years ago their tournament ski boat had a layout the same as "our" boats, no longer see that on their web site? frauscherboats.com has a powerful electric boat
Autokart
Boesch has been building electric powered boats for quite a while. They are very well engineered and have a great range.

Baller andjules Posted July 29, 2017 Baller Share Posted July 29, 2017 Judging from that video, -28 doesn't look fun (Geena), but by -32 (Adam) it's not bad. Althought the tricks table is a bit dish-y for surface toe turns, the wake looks great!
LakeFlumi
The Boesch competition boat held the world record in open mens trick for more than a decade. Only a couple of years ago it was set with a gfk boat. The Boesch is lighter, more stable in the course and way more quieter in the inside. The patented rudder makes the water very quite in the wake. Perfect for tow tricks. Dont compare Swiss Mahagony boats with the American Wooden boats. Boesch and Pedrazzini are in a different league. And if the pricing of the three keeps getting up at the same pace like in the last years, the Swiss build boats may be cheaper soon. We dont see a difference in performance at our Nationals between the Boesch or the other three. Its great that something different is around.
