Airport Security / Binding in Hand Luggage

Has anybody, travelled with a Binding in your hand luggage, was there any issues, reason for asking was because , I have had a 1/4" & 1/2" ratchet taken off me before, would a binding with it,s metal plate, be seen as something that could be used as a weapon ?

I always carry my binding on (reflex boot). Shouldnt be too much of a problem. The issue with ratchets and screw drivers tends to be the length.

I've been stopped for it once but they did not confiscate, just looked odd going through the creeper bot so they took a look in the bag.

Certainly no worse than ski boots and I have carried them on. They will likely want to look at it as it is different/unusual but I don't think you will have any problems.

Just get you a handy Sporttube and you won't need to pull the binding off....

I have traveled with my Fogman binders in my backpack several times with no issues. In fact, I'm always a bit disappointed that no one asks what they are for.

Does anyone take the fin & fin box off of the ski? Was thinking that if you take the whole thing out the fin shouldn't move, and it gives the airline one less thing to mess up

Don't carry your calipers. Lost a nice 8" set to security in Monterrey Mexico a few years ago.
