Baller epnault Posted September 25, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 25, 2017 Hi All, I am struggling to keep the stock rear bootie from Reflex to live a season. It gets torn at the stitching (3rd boot in 2 years). I did switch to a intuition liner on the front. What are options for the rear hybrid boat liner for this system? Baller C5Quest Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 I've seen an intuition cut in half as a rear liner
Baller richfoster Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 I use a regular height liner and use a Velcro strap around the top of it. It's one of the thin liners from Goode (non intuition). The strap came with my drysuit. I've used it all year and it has held up well. And I ski A LOT. Baller gregy Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 @AkBob had used some silicone glue or liquid tape. Not sure what but he covered the worn areas with it.
Baller skialex Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 Check the hardware (screws, prong nuts washers etc) inside the shell with your fingers, if anything caching your fingers, fix that and your liner will last longer
Baller bkreis Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 @epnault I have both my front and rear pretty much made of duct tape at this point..the wonders of duct tape...jeff keppchia in wpb is riding duct tape as well...lol
Baller D3dude Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 plastic dip on the worn or wearing area will stop the ripping...I use a cheap small paint brush to apply...it can make the liner harder to get into the boot.
Kdinger838
I used my intuition liner and just cut it above the cuff. Works great for me
Baller Deanoski Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 use plastic dip comes in a spray can or paint can paint it on the seams or tears makes the liners last twice as long!!
Baller Jmoski Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 Had the same problem, I switched to using a full reflex liner in the rear with a velcro strap and that is holding up much better than the R short liners. I also filed down the rear edge on my r shell as it was fairly sharp...
Baller BraceMaker Posted September 26, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 26, 2017 I covered the hardware inside my hardshell with a teflon self stick film. Really saves the liners even on regular boots taking them on/off.
jrs
I use Goop (Urethane) on the seams and any area that would be worn-out by the hardshell or hardware inside the shell. You can always reapply to a dry liner anytime you see it needs it. Your liners will last years! Keep in mind this will also add grip between the liner and the plastic hardshell, so don't cover the whole liner or it will be hard to get it in and out of the shell. Baller Chef23 Posted September 27, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 27, 2017 You could always try duct tape or gorilla tape over the areas that get worn out. I always put some covering areas on my snow ski boot liners. The other thing that helps if you can do it is leave the liner in the boot if you can when you take the binding off. I do that with my Radar liners and it seems to extend the life.
Baller MrJones Posted September 27, 2017 Baller Share Posted September 27, 2017 Use the same Intuition (Aqua) liner as the front. Use a Velcro strap around the top. Forget about it. I've used the same one for the last 6 seasons.
Baller epnault Posted October 10, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted October 10, 2017 Thanks for the input guys. I do love the intuition front but wasn't sure if it was thick enough for the rear. Awesome
