Baller blagrata Posted November 20, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 20, 2018 Is the Radar HRT XL going to be offered on the aluminum plate for 2019? I thought I saw someone post that a while back but I can't find it available for sale. It is my understanding that I need an aluminum plate to put it on an HO ski. Thanks. Baller Ski_Dad Posted November 20, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 20, 2018 I don't believe they are making the XL in aluminum plate. And yes, the feather frame won't fit on HO skis
Baller bigskieridaho Posted November 21, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 21, 2018 @blagrata I am sure @brooks can answer that
Baller brooks Posted November 21, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 21, 2018 Hey @Blagrata, the HRT is only available in Feather Frame for the XL size in 2019. What size is your foot and what ski are you putting it on?
Baller blagrata Posted November 21, 2018 Author Baller Share Posted November 21, 2018 @brooks Size 13 foot. Plan would be to put it on an HO Omni Syndicate. It may be in combination with a MOB release for the front foot. I'm currently on double xmax and just want to give the HRT... or maybe just a RTP a try. Baller skialex Posted November 21, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 21, 2018 @blagrata you can easily slotted the holes of the feather frame to fit your ski insert pattern. HO has a similar to the HRT product on aluminum plate or direct mount. Last solution if the feather frame is your only choice and it not long enough to fit over the ski holes, you can always mount it on an aluminum plate and then on the ski, it will only raise your back foot be 2mm and it is not going to be much heavier than the HRT on alu plate. Baller jpattigr Posted November 21, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 21, 2018 @Brooks I am also a size 13 and would buy this in an Alum plate model. I like my bindings on the Sequence plate and would mount the HRT on it. I also have a small wedge under my heel. Neither can be done with the Feather frame. Plus big guys prefer the idea of the strength of metal.
Baller perfski Posted November 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 22, 2018 @brooks I would buy some too....but you already know this.... Love me some aluminum plate Vectors! Just sayin...
Baller Zman Posted November 22, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 22, 2018 Radar designed the HRT to work a little like a kicker, so those coming from RTP could still kick into it. Therefore the small heel cup. I needed more, so I use a rear Vapor boot, but leave upper laces very loose. Could probably have just used a Vector in the back, along with the Vapor Carbitex in front. But, the Carbitex feels so good, and I like the BOA for a tight fit on the fore foot.
Baller mmosley899 Posted November 23, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 23, 2018 @blagrata I have an HRT, really like it, but I had a hard time kicking into it. Since you already have the xmax boot, you might try it in back with the upper laces removed completely and put the bungy lace in the lower. I put bungy laces in my HRT. Baller condorpilot Posted November 24, 2018 Baller Share Posted November 24, 2018 Recently re used the aluminium plate from my damaged Radar ARTP to fit an old RTP loop. If plate size and mounting method ( boot to plate ) is the same could you remount the HRT from the feather frame to a new aluminium one ($35.00)?
