Baller seangilbert Posted December 8, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2018 Hi, Is anyone out there running 35off or better consistently on this ski? I’m 6ft1 190 ponds and currently skiing a Vapour Graphite from 2015. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Baller Dirt Posted December 8, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2018 I think @skidawg runs pretty far into 41 on it
Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted December 8, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 8, 2018 I have one and it’s surely capable of 35 off and beyond.
Baller skidawg Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 I switch to the Senate pro This summer, I ran numerous 39’s and ran 3@41 twice on it and it felt amazing
Baller skihacker Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 Any further news on a 65?
Baller jhughes Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 Wouldn't a smaller Senate Pro merely be a Vapor Pro? I don't understand the urgency for a smaller version of a ski that is a larger version of another ski. FWIW I tried both back to back with fin changes, binding changes, and everything and found the Vapor to be the better ski for me by a wide margin. Baller jipster43 Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 @jhughes I gave you an “insightful”, but my logic 101 training leaves me wondering why Radar built the Senate Pro if merely upsizing a Vapor yielded the same results. I am a few buoys behind you, and recently I’ve been wondering if a ski like the Senate Pro would be perfect for me. Or would upsizing any of the top end skis meet my needs? I’m a buck-thirty, so a 66” ski is hard to wrap my head around, but @JoelHowley recommends folks my size ski the 66 GTR. I’ve also been looking at the KD Platinum. Horton suggested downsizing might be an option with the KD, but at my level I’m wondering if sticking with my standard 65” length would give me added stability and speed. I know my real problem is poor technique, but I’m hoping these new crop of skis will give me a better platform with which to achieve better stack. Baller BraceMaker Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 I'd say definitely not! I'd go wider > longer anyday. Here you're going to the "surface area" model on @Horton 's birthday!

Baller Bill22 Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 @jhughes some of us 15off/22off guys are under the delusion that there is a magic carpet out there with “perfect” balance of forgiviness vs performance. On this hypothetical ski I can ski with subpar technique and run two more full passes. @jipster43 I am right there with you, 66” is a lot of ski at a buck 30ish. Baller UWSkier Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 I'm getting an idea for a winter poll thread. How much do you weigh and what's your height? Never knew there were so many guys on the slighter end of the size chart on here.
Baller IGski Posted December 11, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 11, 2018 @UWSkier would the poll include ski model and size we are each running? Sounds like a good new thread to me.
Baller vernonreeve Posted December 12, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 12, 2018 And what's your max speed and shortest length you run consistently.
Baller skihart Posted December 12, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 12, 2018 @skidawg are you still on it or back to a vapor?
Baller skidawg Posted December 12, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 12, 2018 @skihart I will be staying on the Senate pro this year, have a brand new shiny beautiful one sitting in the garage waiting on me
Baller teammalibu Posted December 12, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 12, 2018 @skidawg always kills it on the onside but I thought the senate he rode last summer finished the off side turn better than any ski I’ve seen him on in years including the Vapor! Baller Dirt Posted December 12, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 12, 2018 @Bill22 There is no substitute for good body position, technique and experience BUT I have had a ski be a game changer for me a few times. Ex. (Sorry Horton) borrowed HO A2, Chad Scotts 9900 Midride (purchased from Goode not stolen) and Mapple T2. All of these skis improved stability and gave me better angle and consistency. Baller skihart Posted December 13, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 13, 2018 @skidawg okay it’s the real deal then. It’s now on my list right next to the Connelly GTR for a demo.
Baller Deanoski Posted December 15, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 15, 2018 If it came in a 66 I would try one 65 is just to small
Baller ski6jones Posted December 15, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 15, 2018 @Deanoski Don't be so sure. I've tried 67s numerous times before with no joy. Senate Pro 67 was good for me. I've always ridden a 68. 6'5", 195# Fyi.
Baller ski6jones Posted December 15, 2018 Baller Share Posted December 15, 2018 Website shows 67 and 69, no 65.
