Baller Justin Posted June 20, 2019 Baller Posted June 20, 2019 What year did Nautique go ''drive by wire'' to accept zero off? Or whats the first year of the PCM 330 Excal that will accept zero off? Thanks!
Baller PatM Posted June 20, 2019 Baller Posted June 20, 2019 2007. But I heard that some of the later models of 2006 may be able to use Zero off
Baller Justin Posted June 20, 2019 Author Baller Posted June 20, 2019 Yes just researching and saw that the 2006 manual says digital throttle control new for 2006. Guessing thats the same as E control? Any way to check on the motor?
Baller Dockoelboto Posted June 20, 2019 Baller Posted June 20, 2019 from what I understand 02-05 if they have the excalibur engine can be converted to ZO but it is a 3-5k expense
Baller dave2ball Posted June 20, 2019 Baller Posted June 20, 2019 In 07 Nautique had to be DBW to accept ZO. 2007 the factory was testing ZO. . In late late 07 models they may of had ZO. It was the standard speed control in 08 to current.
Baller Justin Posted June 20, 2019 Author Baller Posted June 20, 2019 @Jody_Seal Whats the most obvious way to confirm the Excal is E controlled and will accept Zero Off? Not interested in converting.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted June 21, 2019 Baller_ Posted June 21, 2019 2007 was first year for e controlled engines from pcm. Early 2007 versions needed recalling or updated to coexist with zero off.
Baller Justin Posted June 21, 2019 Author Baller Posted June 21, 2019 Ok, I am looking at a used 2006 Ski Nautique 206. On the Red engine intake cowl it says "Digital Throttle Control" Just wanted to see if I could convert to zero off easily.
Baller Jmoski Posted June 21, 2019 Baller Posted June 21, 2019 Perfect pass Stargazer upgrade is plug and play in a 2006, gps based and much easier to use than the old 6.5 PP version.
Baller aupatking Posted June 21, 2019 Baller Posted June 21, 2019 Must have an EControls ecm on a 2006. Most, if not all, 2006’s had mefi ecm, which will not work.
Baller jedgell Posted June 21, 2019 Baller Posted June 21, 2019 What about the Gateway? Will the 2006 Gateway work with ZO it does it need changing also?
Baller skiep Posted June 21, 2019 Baller Posted June 21, 2019 2006 will work but you have to change the ECM
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted June 21, 2019 Baller_ Posted June 21, 2019 2006 is mefi dbw. A new Engine harness a few brackets and a e-control ECM will need to be installed.
Baller elr Posted June 21, 2019 Baller Posted June 21, 2019 Get the boat serial number and call Correct Craft they will tell you what you need to do to get ZO working - I did it a few years ago (there are a few late 2006 that are plug and play iirc).
Baller schafer Posted August 18, 2020 Baller Posted August 18, 2020 I know it’s a year ago now since this thread was active But found a 2004 196. Excaliber 330 How much to add zero off? @Jody_Seal
Baller thager Posted August 18, 2020 Baller Posted August 18, 2020 $4500 range if you do it yourself.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted August 18, 2020 Baller_ Posted August 18, 2020 @schafer, yes that engine can be converted. Zo its self is around $1600. Conversion parts from pcm between $3k to $4k.
Baller epnault Posted September 30 Baller Posted September 30 @Jody_Seal Jody - helping a friend with a new boat. Can you confirm that 100% of 2007 196s can be converted to zero off with the kit they offer. I have the hull ID and was going to call Nautique. Thanks Eric
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted September 30 Baller_ Posted September 30 early 07 ecms need to be reprogrammed. also as it is currently a dbw it may also need its potentiometer replaced, I use the word may. later 07 ecm's will facilitate ZO as plug and play though again still may need a potentiometer update and the potentiometer changed out.. 1
