Announcing and webcasting

Greetings,

I am seeing some high quality webcasting, course video with skier and running order over the picture and wanted to ask if there is someone who might be able to offer a list of software and hdw components that are being used.

 

Has someone written an application that will manage all the tournament "goings on's" with a number of tv output throughout the ski site?

 

Is hard wire still the best backbone up and down the lake? Are lots of WAP's up and down the lake in use to get the audio and video out of the boat?

 

Who has the best system and what is it made of for reasonable cost?

Here's a video that does a good job of explaining everything Tony and Vince did at the Swiss Pro Am this year. I use similar equipment.

@normanwenzel on the software side, there are a number of potential solutions for prepping/compositing/encoding the stream; here's a pretty good comparison of the big three:

The stream then gets sent to a broadcast platform (at one extreme you can set up your own broadcast servers, at the other are turnkey platforms like youtube live) that manages distributing the stream to the viewers.

There was something about the Swiss Pro webcast that allowed exceptional quality video with no buffering issues.

And, the many camera angles and drone use was awesome. Kudos!
