Removing the foam padding from Radar Rubber RTP

Hey Ballers,

 

Any tips / secrets to removing the foam padding on the radar rubber RTP?

 

My D3 trick RTP basically pulled right off. I'm having some trouble with this one. seriously strong adhesive.

"Goo Gone"... get it at most hardware stores like ACE, Home depot etc.

@MuskokaKy use dental floss and saw between the plate and rubber. WD40 removes the remaining adhesive. Clean with rubbing alcohol and replace with Wiley’s Peebles foot mat.

Heat the plate up with a heat gun.

All good ideas. But if all else fails, a sanding flap disk on a grinder will remove everything.

 

Once clean, use a pad that keeps your back foot as high as your front foot. Most trick skis have a hardshell front foot so a bit of padding is called for.

 

A heel strap is also useful once you start hitting flips. Some bicycle innertube under the horseshoe works better than a tight kicker.

Turns out about an hour of will and patience and old man strength does the trick.

 

Only negative is the old man has blisters on his fingers now.
