Baller DaveD Posted August 21, 2019 Baller Share Posted August 21, 2019 The calendar app our club has been using to communicate everyone's plans for being at the lake is having programming issues with the latest Apple software update. We've been looking for a new app but it's hard to tell if they work well with both Apple and Droid phones. Any recommendations?
Baller Bill22 Posted August 21, 2019 Baller Share Posted August 21, 2019 We use TeamSnap. It is basically an app for little league teams. We create a “game” in the app to reserve lake time. Other members are able to reserve a ride with you. Once you have a full dock of skiers edit the game name from “Joe’s boat” to “Boat Full.” I have an iPhone but have not hear any complaints from android users. Let me know if you have any questions. Baller ski6jones Posted August 21, 2019 Baller Share Posted August 21, 2019 We use GroupMe. It works great.
Baller Bill22 Posted August 21, 2019 Baller Share Posted August 21, 2019 And one nice feature is you get an email anytime someone will be at the lake.
Hboroughs
Our club also uses TeamSnap and it suits our needs.
Baller jerrym Posted September 12, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 12, 2019 Our club uses google calendar. Members put their ski time on their calendar and it is shared to everyone. Works fine except for when we over-book.
Baller DaveD Posted September 13, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted September 13, 2019 Thanks for the recommendations guys. We are trying out SportYou right now. It's not the greatest but it's working which is a lot better than HUB.
Baller igkya Posted September 13, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 13, 2019 When our club had 20+ members, I guess I see how this might work. A few Q's, how far in advance do you allow someone to schedule time and how do you handle no shows? Safe to assume you schedule in 15 min increments? Baller DaveD Posted September 13, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted September 13, 2019 For our club, the app is just a way to let other members know when you are planning to be at the lake. It's not a way to reserve lake time. It's just a communication method more that a hard scheduling system. I like this method because I don't have to deal with massive group texts dinging my phone constantly.
